Hey all. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternative non Tamiya wheels that will replace the standard Stadium Blitzer wheels? The rear is relatively easy as standard 2.2" 12mm hex truck size, but alternative for the front that use tamiya type axles is confusing me somewhat!

cheers! B)

Here is what I did. They are Tamiya wheels but I think they look cool and bite really good in the dirt! This pic was where I was just mocking up the rear wheels and the body. The electronics weren't even installed yet. I should upload another more recent pic of my set now. I will try and do that in the next couple days.

Hpi 2.2" truck front wheels generally come witha little pack of adaptors to fit various hexes and also plain axles

+1. HPI makes a white 2.2 multi-spoke wheel that looks great. Sorry, I don't have a part number but I've seen them and they look ace on Blitzers.

I would love to see this wheel combo? Or any others on a Blitzer.

Wild Dagger/Twin Detonator and similar cars will fit at rear and in front with some mods.

King Cab/Hi Lux Monster Racer/Bush Devil/Super Blackfoot are direct fit.

King Blackfoot are direct fit also.

Wild Willy 02 are direct fit but size is not the same, size is 2.0 if I remember well and are larger.

Dyna Blaster/Street Rover/Blitzer Beetle Chrome Edition are almost direct fit but same measures of the Blitzer Beetle but 10 mm circa negative offset (the car will be more narrow). The front wheels need a shorter axle (DT02 for example).

Vanessa Lunchbox/Midnight Pumpkin are direct fit on front and need adapter on the rear. Same measures of the Wild Wily 2.

Kyosho Sand Master Truck Ep are direct fit but front wheels need a shorter axle and 850 bearings. And front wheels are fragile in the inner part around the inner bearings.

Main problem i've had trying to find alternatives is the offset is always wrong! How are the hpi's for offset???

On the BB - Not good. Was never satisfied with the Deep Dish Super Star I got for mine. They're now stashed. Anything from the Blitzer / Stadium series fits perfect.

Thanks all for your input. Managed to source a NIP Blitzer Beetle set on the bay for sensible money.

Have to say, I do like what OSR has done with the Blitzer, hmmmm......

Have at it Justuboy! It handles like it is on rails and kinda looks scale too! Awesome on sand dirt and mud. I used CRP wheel adaptors for the rear. They come with the necessary hardware and are a direct bolt-on. If you end up going that way post a pic!

Here is a link for the CRP wheel adaptors.

Wow - now i like that . I'am in the process of rebuilding my Blitzer but this may change the route i go down . Lowering it makes a lot of sence .

That adaptor looks interesting. Can I use this to adapt regular short rear axles (for hex wheel adaptors) to accept Tamiyas older wheels with the disc shaped fitment (which would normally need long axles)? And how exactly do they work? Additional pictures showing details of the assembly are appreciated. :)

Hey Greg I will get some piics posted up for you. You can use the regular drive axles dogbones and inner gear box drive cups. All it takes is these CRP parts.

As promised! Here is the first photo showing the CRP adaptor and the special nut that goes through the wheel and connects with the drive cup. I worried about structural strenght but I assure you not a problem whatsoever! I am running a pretty hot brushed motor in this thing!

When I first thought about changing the wheels and tires of the blitzer Beetle I thought of running Wild One wheels and tires. I still play with the idea but right now I really like the set up that I am running with the SRB wheels and tires (see the photo above post #10).

To attach the Wild One wheels and tires I use Falcon Hubs. Falcon hubs fit directly to the drive cups and bolt up (Nut Up) ;) nicely. Now I will tell you that over time I have went through a lot of these Falcon Hubs because as soon as you put any kind of power to them the crack. A guy in England is reproducing them in aluminum which solves the cracking issues!

Many thanks! Now this is opening up a lot of new possibilities. :)

I've just bought two sets of wheel adaptors, I think they'll come in handy on both my Holiday Buggy 2010 conversion as well as on the Bush Devil/Monster Beetle conversion.

When you mount those wheels I would love to see some pics!

Now that's dirty. Just like it should.

I wonder what's the purpose of those zip-ties?

Lol, My blitzer is a mess, but it runs, 3s Lipo and a castle creations 4 pole motor.

The zip ties are to keep the front wheels pointing forward, I find if the springs are tight the shocks always bounce the front end straight again.

Well the bottom ones have worked loose and been left there, my 1 year old has hidden all my shock collars.

I have looked at the bump steer mod but haven't had time yet.

Without them the weight of the car make the wheels point east and west.
