You forgot the 4th option: donate it to Kontemax...

Max

Is this what Max needs? lolol ;)

It'd be a crying shame to part out one in that good original condition that has managed to survive for so long!

I know I know... Just not too sure at this point... hmmmm... I really don't need another one right now. hmmmm...

Yeah you found it in my closet, can you put it back now please? :P

Honestly though, you wouldn't want to keep it? It isn't exactly a Blazing Blazer.... I would trade it for a Blazing Blazer, but

if you got it for a steal, why not restore it and enjoy it? :)

Why not just restore the chassis and running gear and do a custom runner body for it ? Keep the original body for the shelf ? Its far too nice and original to part out but IMO these need to be run - just as all rc cars . Sorry but i hate shelf queens lol

I'm with bromvw. Clean it up and run it. I too dislike shelf queens. Might as well get a static model if it's going to sit there. For those who do like sq's, not a knock, just my personal preference. ;)

I am still thinking. I know what you guys are saying. If I was to keep it this thing wouldn't be sitting on a shelf. I have upgraded my Blazing blazer with bearings and newer electronics and I run that thing all the time. In fact I don't have any shelf queens. I am sure that you guys have noticed my Username by now ;) lolololol I guess my thing is that I have one do I really need two? Funny that I am struggling with this... Keep it? Don't keep it? Back and forth. lololololol

You must keep it and run it, or change you name, you will bring great dis-honor to tamiyaclub family otherwise, lol

lololol Change my name! lolololol Ya I get where you guys are coming from. lololololol :) I am going to put power to it later on today and I will get back to you guys and tell you how it went. Dis-honor the family...lolololol

I certainly dont have any problems with it being a shelf queen, but all built RC's should be run (IMO).

You can do both, restore it to shelf queen standard so it looks gorgeous when you put it away on a shelf to admire, and take it for a nice gentle run whenever it takes your fancy

You dont have to have it cornering on two wheels, bouncing off kerbs or 5ft jumps off the nearest concrete steps to enjoy it. Respect it for what it is B)

You are getting very sleepy, your eyelids are getting heavy, sleep now ...

Get in your car, fill it will petrol, and drive straight away to beautiful Montana and make me a killer deal on this unwanted and terribly unnecessary old toy. You don't want it, it would be a waste to keep it, and it would just collect dust.

Repeat after me: Taliesin deserves a vintage Hilux. Taliesin would make a good vintage Hilux owner. I will make Taliesin a VERY, VERY good offer on this old thing.

You will wake up now, refreshed and alert - determined to pass on some Vintage Tamiya Goodness to this very nice Taliesin person in Montana....

:D

PS - this means you could KEEP your name!!!

Ok I tested it the transmission shifts smoothly in and out of gear with the motor engaged. Nice. The whole thing needs a teardown and clean and regrease which is to be expected.

Well it is gone! I put it up on Kijiji and some one from Toronto Ontario Canada snatched it up! I even got a brand new Traxxas Slash Ultimate (never run in the deal) This will be my newest RC ever!

I know I know. It was actually a friend that knew I had it and told this guy about it and the next thing you know it was gone! At least I still have the Blazing Blazer :) I was thinking about getting rid of that at one time but those Port Stanley beaches and lake Huron Beaches are calling to me for a run sooner then later BTMR!

And at least I got a brand new Slash 4x4 RTR out of the deal too! I have always wanted one of those! It is the newest one that I have had in a while!

With regard to the Slash 4x4 Ultimate, I'm not changing my ways on loving and running vintage tamiya RCs! I just want to try a newer model on for size! lolololol :)
