Tamiya Nissan King Cab Rebuilt

Hey folks,

I had luck the last week... there was a car on the bay without a detailed description - it was a King Cab chassis.

I knew the guy who sold it, cos he comes from the next small town nearby and I bought some stuff from him before.

After some mails I got it and so I picked the chassis up without motor and body for the price of a nice meal at my favorite fast food restaurant

Sure it was a runner, it has several marks, scratches and got some hits. Fine with me, cos for me it´s gonna be my Monster Racer runner. So I´ll convert the King Cab to a Monster Racer with white rims.

My Sassy MR is to unique to drive around and my mint MR from a fella from South Afrika is not nice either.

The car is dusty and greasy all over.

It has some gold alloy dampers, the white King Cab rims and a servo on it. The front tires are only good for tarmac and the rears are to narrow for the rims. Nothing seems to be broken at first sight.

My plan as followed:

1.) strip it down and clean the parts

2.) ultra sonic the dampers and service them

3.) rebuilt the gears with carbon idle shaft and beerings

4.) rebuilt the chassis with new screws

5.) replace the turnbuckle shafts

6.) hop-up the steering

7.) Proline Dirt Hawks for the rear, maybe Edges or something like the originals for the front

8.) install standard electronics (GM Race motor, Futaba Servo, 12T controller)

9.) grab a MR body with some decals

10.) fun time!

Did a lot other rc stuff the last days, so it took some time.

Here now some actual pics from the King Cab.

Dampers seem to be Kyosho Options.

All screws will get replaced to stainless steel.

Have a pretty nice idea in mind for the Monster Racer convert.

Btw: has somebody Bush Devil rims for sale?
