So, nothing much happening today, apart from I have removed the servo and MSC, and taken the shocks off...

I have 2 19T Etronix sport tuned motors, and a Ripmax No Limit ESC in the shed ready to be fitted

On order I have

* 4 100mm Shocks

* Full Ball Race kit

* High Torque servo (waiting to pay 'The Dark Knight' off here for it)

* Servo saver, and alloy mounting kit

* Alloy Shock Mounts

Need to order

* Alloy hubs F & R

* Steel dog bones

Any suggestions please feel free to "express yourself"

Thanks for looking

Nice, :lol: got one in the mail too. I will not be going full out with tuning (yet) but wanted to go in the direction of a crawler with 2 ESCs, 2x 55T and front rear steering (crab and so) and try do axle lockout with my FS GT3B.

I think this chassis is quite under-rated?, I don't own one but there is so much potential with the possibility of 4WS and *twin battery? (*with modified chassis), Aluminium shock towers and longer shocks, could even add another gearbox for 6x6...etc...The list could be endless.

Good luck with your projesct.

never seen this before, but looks like it has shed loads of options, and i like the dual motor setup but on a smaller chassis (the clod is a bit big sometimes!)

think i may have found my next RC to hunt down (slowly!)

Got ball racing today after work :)

Done all the wheel hubs and rear gearbox so far, I don't need to grease the gears or anything before I re-assemble? They feel moist with grease, which seems fine to me?

Gears must not work dry. Use Ceramic Grease on the gears and pinoin gears. Use steel pinion gears instead of original aluminum ones.

Lee, Cool Project.. I have 3 of these Chassis'1- Dual Hunter -Stock and my Son's2- Blackfoot Extremes, One is Modded 4wd and mine, the other is still 2wd and in pieces for my Daughter, I should just make it 4wd and be done too.. LOL

Sounds cool with the Crawler setup, I think the 4WS will be cool too, I have thought of that for mine..

I run mine on silver cans and 9.6v or if I feel like it dual batteries and 2 Johnson 600 motors. They are great trucks. Gearboxes are extremely reliable mine was second hand well played with and gearboxes were bone dry when I opened them up and there wasn't as much of a Mark on any of it still tight as a drum.

Im really tempted to join in the fun with these. The twin motor and 4ws potential sounds too good to miss. What's the battery life like when running with the dual motor and single battery setup?

Little update, just fitted the alloy shock towers and 100mm shocks, a little more clearance now :D

Just need to fir the Hi Torque servo I have then its pretty much there...

With a half decent battery I get about 10 mins I'm running 2 19T motors so effectively 9.5T single comparison..

I get a good 30-40 mins run on 3000 battery running 35T rc4wd motors - hope that helps .

Nice work, although I'd check the front and rear dogbones don't bind in the drivecups when the suspension is at full droop - ie wheel off the ground.

I had that problem Dave but cured it by fitting 3racing CVD's .

That's good to know. I was thinking to run twin 35T motors as well Bromvw. What sort of speed do you get with that setup, fast jog/run? I plan to swap the suspension arms over with TL01 arms to narrow the width a bit. I'm hoping the TL's dogbones will be a straight fit too. The 35T motors will hopefully balance the stability I've lost with the narrower track.

Dogbones seem fine actually so happy with that.

Just noticed i put 10 mons lol typo on my phone i meant 20 which still isnt that good but that was a 3200 battery which is quite old im hoping to order some good batteries, can anyone recommend any nice nimh batteries?

I'd say a steady run speed wise - its no racer but still fast enough to be fun . Plus it will go just about anywhere . The 35t motord are a good compromise in torque/speed terms

what kind of speed controller setup do you guys run?

I currently have the stock motors setup in series on a Mtroniks sports 20 with steel 18T pinions, but was planning to go something like dual esc with dig and also 35Ts

Thanks Lee (i think lol!)

Just bagged myself a 'dual hunter' from evilbay for £61 delivered, just needs a crystal and controller, so will just swap my 2.4Ghz receiver into it. It looks to be quite clean, and also appears to have the Tamiya dual motor ESC, so fingers crossed i have managed to find a good example that hasn't been abused much!
