EMS rates. Hong Kong Post v Japan Post

I'm considering buying something direct from Japan but from the price I am being quoted it seems that EMS prices are more expensive from Japan than Hong Kong. Has anyone else had this experience too?

EMS is a cooperative, not a corporation. As a consequence each contributing member sets their own price, the cooperative is only really concerned about collective quality and SLA's, not price.

It just seems that Japan post change more than Honk Kong post in this case.

Yes, Japan Post definitely seems to be more expensive than Hong Kong. I have tried finding a postage calculator for Hong Kong that gives accurate postage information that tallies with the prices that Stella charge but cannot find one. Anyone got a link?

Yeah tried them both but cannot get any kind of price that matches what Stella charge. The prices quoted when using the Hong Kong Post site are ludicrous.

stella buy their post in bulk up front , rc mart do the same , they get a discount rate just like franked mail and bulk mail purchase in the UK.
