Hi all just picked up a vintage Frog in considerably good condition. Going to refurbish her and want your opinions. Choice 1) keep her all original or choice 2) fully ball race, esc instead of msc and a 21Turn motor. What do you think. Steve.

Considerably good condition? If it is in considerably good original condition, I would personally keep it that way; you can always buy a re-release and hop that up to hilarious speeds!

Otherwise, I would go for the modern parts. Assuming you are going to run this car, it would not hurt at all to add them and get a nice-performing runner.

pics or it didn't happen. lol. I say run it some, but if ya feel the need... go balls out. :) shelf queens are just parts cars waiting to be picked.

It depends on what you want to do with it. Do you want a cool vintage piece to display, or something you can drive without worrying about it being damaged?

Frog parts are still produced and easy to find, so you don't have to worry too much about damaging it. Many newly produced aftermarket parts are on the market too for that chassis. You could go either way.

In my collection, I try to have a box art stocker to display with the box, another example highly modded with period parts, and a basher. Don't be afraid to turn one project into 3! haha

I'd say keep it all original or if needed, restore it to its original condition. Then run it. With period radio gear, of course.

And remember: what you have there is a CLASSIC!

I have an all orignal frog steve that I picked up 8 years ago dismantaled and it is sitting in a bin for when I get around to it. I also have a brand new throp diff just waiting to be used too. I have been thinking about building a Highly modified Frog with all these parts and goodies that I have picked up over the years so I am going to be following your forum topic closely to get some ideas. In the meantime I just picked up a re-release frog today too to run in stock stance just to get a feel of what they are like stock. Do you have any pics of your frog Steve?

Its in bits a the moment. I've replaced all the plastic gearing and greased it up. I've had to really clean the gearbox case as it had years of grease baked on it. New rear tyres are ready to be fitted. The chassis needs another clean with a de greaser.

I can't decide if I'm going to keep it or sell it on. If I keep it I'll fit it with modern 2.4GHz radio gear and esc. If I decide to sell it I'll leave the original Rx and mechanical speed controller.

Steve.
