DIY Equivalent to a lightsaber

Just bought meself a new toy

Amazon have a cracking deal on them at the minute, and I've needed a loft hatch in the garage for ages now

Fantastic bit of kit, makes light work of a double layer of plasterboard;

And I found a load of old timber too!

Yeah, they are pretty neat machines.. However, the motor in mine is fried. (It was a BOSCH also).

I have one of these, but have yet to find a use for it.

For example, I'd probably have just cut out the plasterboard with a jigsaw or reciprocating saw.

It just doesn't pop into my mind as the tool of choice for my home improvement projects.

Although I guess I'm just used to using other tools to do the job and should probably give this a go.

Probably the next time I need to cut a small square out for an electrical outlet or something I'll have to remember to use it!

There is no better tool!

Out of all the tools on a general builders van (friend of mine) , some very expensive - this is by far the most used all rounder he uses, swears by it every time. To the point I want one, even if I don't need it that much!

It's so good because it's quick at making hard things easy - perfect for notching skirting boards in situ for example or just like twinset has done make a hole quickly....

Any way it's on my list of "to gets", but then we all know what a list of "to gets" is like.... never ending!

Once you got one, you'll find uses for it

Tomorrow I'm having a crack at some sealant-style 'flashing' that's been stuck to the house for years - tried it with a putty knife scraper and it won't even look at it.

As for the hole;

Apart from the 45s, everything was cut n sanded with the Bosch

Not bad for a first proper DIY project
