Hello all,

Very new to the RC truck scene i have purchased Tamiya Volvo truck and I am looking to programme the truck to work with my receiver a Futaba 4EX.

I have the manual and have tried to understand the setup in manual but all seems set for RC planes which is no use to me :(

Has anyone ever setup a Tamiya truck with this receiver and if so please help me it's driving me mad not being able to use my truck.

Thanks in advance.

I've used 4ex in trucks and tanks.

Didn't use it with a mfc in the truck, but had no problem with using it for the basic gearbox / steering /ESC configuration.

You do need to fit a shift gate to the TX though, and I modified my TX to remove the ratchet on the stick normally used for throttle on aeroplane models, so if you have the ratchet on the left hand stick you will need to disassemble the tx and move the ratchet to the right stick if you cannot convert it spring loaded yourself.

When I had mine set up, I set all the servo throws to 100%, and made sure that ailerons / elevators were not linked on the TX setup. The steering servo connects to channel 1 on the rx, ESC channel 2, and the gearbox shifter will be 3 or 4, can't remember which though. It will be whichever servo operates from the left/right motion on the left hand stick.

Hope this helps
