Help: looking for a MB painted as SS here in TC...

Recommended Posts

I've been looking for days without luck... I thought someone might remember a Monster Beetle that I remember seeing here in TC. It was painted as a Sand Scorcher and had a very interesting metallic rear cage like the Sand Scorcher's but much bigger. I've been trying to find it to have some reference so I can check the proportions for a future project. The TC entry seems to be gone.

Anybody remembers that Monster Beetle? If so, any hints or pics to share?

I know it's not a Monster Beetle, but any chance you're thinking of this?

Thanks but, even though that's mighty pretty, it is not the one I'm looking for.

The MB I'm trying to find had the stock red chassis with an MB body painted as a SS. The one extraordinary feature was the rear cage, which was made from metal tubes painted in silver!

I gave up trying to find it myself, checked hundreds of entries in TC and come up with nothing. I'm in hopes someone here might remember that MB or maybe knows who was the TCer that customized it.

Hi,

maybe this might help:

It's a cool MB from Jacko Boy.

Cheers,

Thanks, mate! but that's not the one I'm looking for. :(

It was a MB with a regular SS white/blue paintscheme and had a custom metal rear cage on its back. Jacko Boy's MB still has the stock black plastic paddle on its back.

I looked thru and couldn't find it either, the only one with added metalwork I could find was this;

Gee, that reminds me of the material used to make the rear cage I remember, but it's not the specific MB I'm looking for.

Let's see if some TCer might remember and help me find pictures of it!

By the way, that roll cage is really something! Just so you don't scratch that super scarce 1986 MB body! :P

I know it's not this one EB but I wanted to get my pic on here

Well, I hope you don't mind me tweaking a bit the picture of your lovely custom MB, Lee. Just wanted to show fellow TCers here the sort of MB I've looking for!

The thing had a metal rear cage that looked a bit like this. I think it was somewhat smaller.
