Actually, those are beautiful custom vehicles. The very first (and only) time that Tamiya used that body was back in 1987, for the Midnight Pumpkin release.

Here's a picture of the first 100 Tamiya RC models from the first one, the Porsche from 1976. No Ford F-100 body before or after the MP.

It must have been my imagination, I realise they were custom builds, they showed up in my search for something I must of imagined.

EDIT: Found it, not sure if it was the same body though, Don't know when it was released?.

Still, it would have been great if Tamiya used that body on some other vehicle. A 1:10 scale F-100 would have been like WOW

Yes, it's the same Ford body but being a QD vehicle, then that means it's an early 90's vehicle.

ah brilliant the reason i asked was my friend came this evening saying he had seen something in a magazine and would'nt take no for an answer lol i googled but couldnt find anything resembling what he had seen . i recognise pretty much all tamiya's and couldnt recall seeing another kit or car with this body.

i dont know when the magazine is from he is going to borrow it again, i will do a scan on of it

I used to have a saved eBay search for the tamiya low ride pumpkin...

Needless to say it never netted a positive find! Very, very rare QD!

So far there is only one of those Pumpkins in the club.

I don't think they're that much interesting, other than the fact that they extremely hard to come by!

well its easy enough to mount the body on an m03 which is probly better anyway, but for a collector it would be a nice edition!

Just a thought, if the lowrider was a quick drive, it's possible that the body is different?, The qd pumpkin body is smaller?
