67CamaroSS 304 Posted February 19, 2013 I know the best way to gauge a predicable selling price is usually to look at completed or near completed ebay auctions. But sometimes there arent any completed/current listings to accurately assess value so I'm gonna ask this question to you. And please dont tell me its worth, "whatever someone will pay". This inquiry is only meant to draw on our collective expertise in the area. so lets hear your "estimates" Porsche 959 new built chassis orig rally tires, look new orig body, never cut, painted, all accessories including drivers Rothman's decals unused Technigold motor original kit box, not sure if it has original instructions never or gently run what do you think is a fair selling price for this? Percymon 2184 Posted February 19, 2013 £170, $260 ? prices in USA are generally lower for used Tamiya than the UK.
Hibernaculum 933 Posted February 19, 2013 For a new built chassis + near new tyres + box + motor + uncut/unpainted body + rothmans? A NIB body set alone sells for more than that, and in fact, one just did. It sounds almost new-built, except the body is untouched. My estimate: ~$500-$600 By comparison, NIB kits are usually around the $1000 mark. It sounds like it deserves to be >50% NIB value. H.
Percymon 2184 Posted February 19, 2013 My estimate was based on the chassis having been run - if it is truly new built then double my first guess , which puts it around the thoughts of Hibernaculum. As ever though what it'd fetch one month can be remarkably different another.
mongoose1983 3335 Posted February 20, 2013 That's a nice 1:12 car. I'd say somewhere between $300 and $400.
commiedoor 18 Posted February 20, 2013 as much as some one is willing to pay for it !
Daves956 157 Posted February 20, 2013 You mentioned painted and uncut for the body. That one is a beast to paint correctly so I'd probably knock off a bit, but it still should go around 400 US.
Hibernaculum 933 Posted February 20, 2013 orig body, never cut, painted, all accessories including drivers I had assumed this meant never cut AND never painted. Was I mistaken?
