speedy_w_beans 4285 Posted February 21, 2013 That's really sweet. If only they would do one for a 1/10 buggy, 1/10 SCT, or 1/8 e-buggy instead of a 1/16... EDIT: I guess the shock towers would be a problem and they can do it for the 1/16 E-Revo because of the IFS-style suspension...
TWINSET 1795 Posted February 21, 2013 Yeah, the shock towers would be an issue, but for pan cars it might be an option? Hopefully, there'll be one for every scale if this one sells - their Baja Beetle ended up in at least 5 scales, 2 just for crawlers!
alfagta 126 Posted February 21, 2013 spotted this earlier on Redrc , really hope they do one for 1/10 scale 2wd buggies , could easily knock up some custom shock towers out or grp or CF sheet to lay down the shocks or even a low wide shock tower that hangs the shock mounts through slots in the body for use with exposed short dampers , would make a very cool car park ripper
Wild Willy Speed Shop 73 Posted February 23, 2013 I want the white walls!
IBIFTKH 1372 Posted February 23, 2013 Very cool, almost makes me want to buy a mini Revo just so I can fit that body! Hope they do one for the 1/10 E Revo too... with Willy driving of course
Daves956 157 Posted February 23, 2013 In case anybody was interested, the E-revo mini is at 7.9 inch wheelbase and around 12 overall. Pumpkin and probably lunchbox are also 8 inch. since it only has front wheel arches it wouldn't be rocket science to put it on a frog or grasshopper or M0?, 959, 956............... Or the darn GT01 I can't find a body for.
BadWagon 147 Posted February 24, 2013 Hate the out of proportion wheels, but love the body.
spencertrax 23 Posted February 24, 2013 Lots of potential, M chassis might be a good option.
Daves956 157 Posted April 3, 2013 It's a little too narrow for the M05 I have here but it's spot on for the GT01 Tamtech. The GT01 has 12mm hex axles so I can do whatever looks good for wheels and tires too.
spencertrax 23 Posted April 4, 2013 m size on the front and standard 1.9 rears for the classic big/little hot rod look
redzone 212 Posted April 4, 2013 Would this fit a dt02 I wonder?
GregM 1109 Posted April 4, 2013 Wheelbase of the 1/16 "Mini" E-Revo is 202mm, while the DT-02 has a wheelbase of 260mm. Not even a close fit. But there was a Hot Rod bodyied 1/10 Mad Rat sold by Ansmann a while ago:
Daves956 157 Posted April 4, 2013 m size on the front and standard 1.9 rears for the classic big/little hot rod look Ya, I was thinking the same thing but just had a bad moment while thinking about which wheels to use. The GT01 is 4 wheel drive and I really had hopes of it being drivable when finished. Narrow up front and wide in the back would be doable but different diameters would be a dissaster. Daves956 157 Posted April 4, 2013 4 wheel drive ?? No excuses for that brain fart, I thought it was. So those really pretty anodized blue ones at a friends house would be perfect for it. He only has the rears and we both keep trying to put them on some weird project here.
redzone 212 Posted April 4, 2013 That's odd, from the pic of it on the m chassis it looks like the m chassis is too short in the wheelbase!
Daves956 157 Posted April 4, 2013 That's odd, from the pic of it on the m chassis it looks like the m chassis is too short in the wheelbase! That's not an M chassis in the picture, It's the GT01. It just fits under the front and back of the body and the 160 width is about as close as you could ask for.
Daves956 157 Posted April 4, 2013 This is on a short version M05. The centerline of the shocks is the same as the ends of the body and the front wheel wells would have to be opened up. then there's the battery that's wider than the body. It could be done but there'd be a lot of cutting.
redzone 212 Posted April 7, 2013 Oh whoops! Yeah I think that body could handle having more of the wheelbase offset to the rear, but with the front axle centreline pulled slightly forward of where it is in that pic. An m06 may be narrow enough to fit within the tub too!

An m06 may be narrow enough to fit within the tub too! I've never seen an M06 close up but unless the battery mounts different it would be sticking out both sides. That body is pretty narrow and has a really long hood with nothing in the back so nothing really is going to look anything other than a little different. This picture shows a bit better how I intend to put this body on the GT01 chassis. It's still very preliminary but it looks like it will work.
Percymon 2185 Posted April 7, 2013 That looks great Dave, are they the street devil wheels ??
Daves956 157 Posted April 7, 2013 That looks great Dave, are they the street devil wheels ?? The wheels and tires are heavily modified Losi minis. the fronts are what I use on the 956s and I spotted that larger than M05 rear at the LHS and thought they'd look good since they match. The GT01 is 12mm hex but doesn't use a nut.
redzone 212 Posted April 7, 2013 That looks great Dave! Yes the M06 has a longitudinally mounted battery so it's not as wide as any other M chassis.

That's good to know about the M06, I tend to do this type of thing a lot and finding the right chassis is usually a task all by itself. I've been interested in this body for this chassis since this thread brought it up but wanted to see it in person first. Not just order one in and hope it fit. A LHS had plans to showcase this one and once they had it in hand couldn't come up with a chassis for it. It wasn't out for sale but already opened and in one of the back rooms, only when I asked if they'd seen it did they bring it out. Now I just have to decide on a color scheme for it. I'm thinking a buckskin or off white soft top might be cool.
