hi all,

i have decided that i would really like a holiday buggy that is has the originals dimensions and wheels ,

i like the idea of getting an original but the thought of getting another of the re re's and narrowing it looks like the more sensible option as i do want to run it ,i want to keep the re re i have in its DT02 format ,what ever i chose will need work with a bit of resto or the mods on narrowing etc.

i am not a 'shelfer' kind of guy and i dont believe in buying rc cars in the hope they will gain fiscal worth ,

what would you folks do in these circumstances , old or new?

Take a look here, http://www.tamiya101...gy_modified.asp you will probably find the rere is the best option for running. In all honesty, even though it looked nice and unitised (i.e. the body fitted the chassis like it was meant to :/ ), the original HB chassis was horribly under engineered and only good for holding the body off the shelf.

thanks for that B.M.T, just what i was looking for ;)

I like Stevo309's mod, as it enables you to use the older style of wheels.

ChrisHix' mod is also worth a look, especially for the very strong, easy to recreate, front shock tower:

I'm still in the process of combining the best of both tutorials for my Holiday Buggy project. Almost done, but I accidentally messed up the new pin holes for the front arms... So I'll have to cut and drill a new set of arms.
