Super Champ alu rollcage. Paint it or not?

Last Friday I've painted black the aluminum rollcage of the Super Champ. I decided to give it a try since my Champ is red and the shell bars are painted black. I thought that matching it with the chassis rollcage all black would have some good effect in the looks department.

I don't know, I'm looking at pictures and I'm not convinced yet. What would you guys say? Here's some pics:

Thanks! I ran it, but that was two or three years ago. Since it is a not-so-fun car to run (compared to others), it has become more a shelfer, even though as you can see here the car is anything but a shelfer!

By the way, I thought you might want to have a look at the running set-up of this buggy. I remember my biggest problem with SRBs was not having batteries that would fit them. So I grabbed this six-cell "thing" I got in an RC junk parts lot I got and so I finally could run the car. Then again, the car was not that fun to run. Keep in mind I started with Pumpkins and Black Foots, therefore my feeling towards the way these cars run.

Looks good to me. "BUT" I would polish all the alloy if it was me. Polished alloy is the bees knees but that's just me.

Get a Shorty Li Po hard case from H/K when you can. They are cheap enough at $27.00. Will fit in with ease then.

Thanks, MAD RACER. I might consider doin' some polishing in the future. As for lipos, I guess they're no-nos for me. Why would anybody want a 31-year old car running like a new one? I'm afraid the Super Champ would lost its ''charm'' with non-period running gear.

I run a lipo in the sand scorcher in my avatar, it really is a great thing for run time alone, but the extra punch & voltage makes the silver can run a lot harder than it has any right to! And yes a shorty lipo makes life easy with an srb.

The black painted aluminum cage looks great on the superchamp. It looks like it was made for it..:-)
