Yesterday I was enjoying a good bash with my DF-03ra...it was pretty cold, though. I made one poor decision on some sandy asphalt and slammed the car under a chain-link fence, poking a jagged hole in the hood (bonnet for you in the UK) and breaking the front corner of the body to the point a chunk came out of the front quarter panel.

This is a basher body, but I'd like to keep using it. I have some spare lexan scraps around and could easly paint them to match the missing pieces. Is there any preferred technique/trick to ptaching/repairing a lexan body? What kind of adhesive might work best to join lexan to lexan?

I found this video:

which was pretty helpful, but I wanted to run it by this resourceful crowd.

TIA for any assistance.

Shoo goo is the recognised repair paste but i've no idea how good a job you could with butting one section next to another. I've used hot melt glue to repair small cracks and also to patch a hole under the mounting point for a roll cage with pieces of lexan from the base of a Coke bottle.

If you can't get a good finish you could perhaps put a piece of 'carbon fibre' effect vinyl over the entire hood to disguise the cracks somewhat.

Thanks to all for the suggestions/input. Going to try the show goo/drywall tape method tonight, as well as patch with other lexan. Will report on outcome...

shoo goo and builder wall tape will definately work. I have repaired a number of badly damaged bodies using this stuff. Use it in a well ventilated area and try not to get it on your skin. good luck
