hi all,

has anyone ever found an alternative to tamiya's AW grease , i have a lot of diffs to tune and if i use the tamiya stuff i would need about £120 worth , there must be a similar substance from the auto trade or other industry that comes in large tubs , any idea's ?

cheers :)

I was recently replacing my Brembo pads on my Acura TL and I found the copper colored Brembo brake grease to be very similar to Anti-Wear grease. Extremely sticky and metallic. Probably good for much higher temps as well. One tube from Honda is as big a very large tube of toothpaste. Talk about a lifetime supply. Honda part number 08798-9027.

tried the K12 ,

i have it in the diff of my M-04EL and one of the HB2010's, its nowhere near as tacky and thick as AW but, it does make a difference , not as much as tamiya or 3racing AW though, but defo more than standard tamiya ceramic or standard assembly grease ,

feels kinda like 20,000wt in a geared diff where as tamiya AW feels more like 60,000wt and standard assembly grease feels more like 8,000 , i like it so far as going for any less diff action does cause my 2WD cars to push or understeer a bit too much when 'on power' , i will stay with it and see how it does over the long term ,

the search continues for an AW alternative that has the same properties as the tamiya stuff though,:)
