The motor and battery pack run out at $100 - then add the price of the glider kit , radio gear , charger ect ect ect . Not as cheap as you might think . Plus in a race series you'll crash at least once or twice and at 200mph belive me as a former flight guy all you end up with is a plie of matchstick sized balsa pieces .

hi,

the hobby king racing series has a strict control cost of $100 all in for airframe and power/drive system inc battery but not charger ,radio etc ,i believe the gt10 car class will have the same restriction the aim is to see how fast you can go within that limit , they have airframes and power systems on their site that would allow these restriction to be met , its a fun class and something we need to see more of to take some of the elitist and over priced nature out of the flight side of the rc hobby,

i think its a superb idea .

ok i see what your meaning now having done some reading up . its a cool idea . $100 for a racer is good cheap fun . GT10 car class sounds like a great idea too if they set a cost limit of around that mark .
