New to the forum. I'm a long time VW bus fan and have been wanting to do something with this body since it came out. I've been modifying/hot rodding the Kyosho Blizzard SR and decided I'd try and fit the VW body. Unfortunately the proportions were wrong and I ended up building a chassis from scratch. Power is from 2- Exceed Elite 370 Brushless motors w/400 rpm gearboxes. Huco double jointed couplers & L boxs. A piece of plex covers the running gear and the 2S or 3S lipo sits on that. The tracks are from a SR which were narrowed by 1/2" on each side and shortened. I used superglue for plastic and the original screws to hold the track together. The paint job came out o.k. so I'll redo that in the future.

I'm now thinking that the Maistro VW Bus 1/10 would be pretty close to the SR chassis. May give that a go later on.

That's pretty awesome! Super nice custom chassis work you did there!

The Maisto wheelbase is the same as the M04L (240mm). So measure your tracks and see if that would fit.

You could always cut out more to make it longer.

Since I recently did a Maisto bus body, I can tell you you'd need to manually cut out the windows, or just leave them black plastic.

It is a fun body to mess with though!

Cheers,

Thanks. I read your thread on the bus. You did an outstanding job! I'll pick up a Maistro body and see about fitting it to a Blizzard SR chassis, looks like a pretty close fit. My plan will be to convert it to a Crewcab.
