What do you do with old nitro motors?

I've got on OS max sitting here from a conversion to electric and it looks like 2 or 3 more are coming my way for the same reason. I don't use them and don't know anyone that does. I don't think thier worth the effort to post them on any ad board but just tossing them out seems a waste. Is there an alternate use for any of the parts or is it just a waste?

That was actually my first thought. I used to have a con rod from a chain saw that served that purpose.

I have one of them for my car key ring. That and a Tamiya tool. Other old engines I have cleaned up and mounted to the wall as display items.

It's not worth the hassle of listing, I also have no real idea of it's absolute condition so it would have to be a parts sale. They're nasty little things so a paperweight or door stop isn't a good idea. As mentioned I'll be converting a couple more and it looks like they'll be garbage can filler. I'd probably give them away if I knew anybody that would even accept them.

Piston and con rod keyrings would be cool. Can you not get pistons and sleeves for them to rebuild?

It never crossed my mind to rebuild one. The one here reportedly ran fine but was the typical finicky thing at altitude and didn't like the cold. At least two of the upcoming ones also run fine once thier convinced to run. The owner just doesn't like to tinker with them to run them. It's easier to convert to electric and be done with it. I just don't see a way to get rid of them other than the trash and keep some little bit maybe.
