Win7 + IE10 + IP.Board = no Enter key?

Is anybody else having a problem with their "Enter" key when replying to threads in IE10?

It's pretty strange -- when entering text to reply to a thread in IE10, the Enter key does nothing. However, when entering browser addresses, Google searches, etc. "Enter" works just fine.

I did have some system updates over the weekend and I think IE9 was upgraded to IE10; it seems like the "Enter" key broke suddenly.

I just downloaded Chrome now and it seems to be working fine with this IP.Board site software. Are there any known compatibility issues with IE10 and IP.Board?

have you logged out of the main site?, that might sort it as silly as it sounds.

edit2add:That's assuming that it's only this forum that it happens on.

Yes, I've done a fresh boot on the laptop, started IE10, and gone directly to the forum without logging into the main site.

I'm writing this now on a different machine running IE9, and there are no problems with the "Enter" key at all.

Win7/IE9 -- ok

Win7/Chrome -- ok

Win7/IE10 -- not ok for some reason

hiya speedy, mine has been the same for a couple of weeks now , got a bunch of window updates and the return key stopped working for line breaks , i use chrome for the TC forum and its all good , been trying to find the update that caused it to happen but no success

Mods, please don't mistake this as whining.. This is a free service and we appreciate all of your hard work! I am with Speedy here though. I am using W8 with IE10 and I can't use my enter key specifically on this BB. I look a little silly replying and unable to create paragraphs! . Hopefully it is an easy fix and it looks like Paul has provided some guidance above. Thanks!

I've been trying to get to the bottom of this myself and have asked Chris for a 'plain english' explanation of the problem

The enter key not showing as a 'press' on a post is all tied in with the mainsite problem, as it's to do with text entry
