Toykid 596 Posted April 8, 2013 Great thread, guys. Some simply amazing shots on here. REdbull Luchie has to be one of my favorites. I have recently rigged up my Go-Pro to a carbon rod connected to my transmitter (wheels & trigger) to allow me to stand but have the camera way down on the floor, using the remote control to take picture bursts. But the best technique I have is to find a friend who loves photography and is always on the hunt for subjects to shoot. If you don't have a friend you can always contact a photography group to offer you "services" for an afternoon to allow them to practice action shots on small subjects Just make sure they send you their shots. Here are some of the favorites from my showroom: Please note - this is not a blazer An oldie, but still a favorite of mine. OK, I'll stop now - sorry.
Gruntfuggly 562 Posted April 8, 2013 Great pics Toykid - love the WW shot. Tamiya could have sold a fair few with that on the box! They all look surprising realistic - even the last one, although I wouldn't want to be sitting in that car when it hit the ground again!
JeepnMike 150 Posted April 8, 2013 That last VW shot jumping the dune is pretty much perfect! That is what the Scorcher is all about.. Way cool. The saltwater pics made me cringe though.. Saltwater is nasty stuff.

Tamiya1/10 382 Posted April 10, 2013 Those are great action photo shots, especially the rooster mud tails. Toykid please ask your friend what lense was used and camera speed.
Toykid 596 Posted April 11, 2013 Thanks, For those that understand this stuff (I don't) here are the camera settings: Variable, ranged from 1/200 - 1/400 of a second at f4 - f5.6 cloudy white balance. I am not sure what lenses Fraser used. Typically it was quite a long lense as he prfers to shoot from a distance and gets very low to the ground. He is using a Canon SLR digital body (sorry I don't know what type- but it's nothing too crazy). James.

markbt73 5316 Posted April 17, 2013 These aren't up to the standards of the other shots in this thread, but what I lack in skill, I like to think I make up for in enthusiasm. Ten points to the first person to name this car (hint: it is box-art)... FAV getting dusty... I love the rear suspension angle in this shot... Blackfoot in full effect... One-handed Clod wheelie shot...

markbt73 5316 Posted April 17, 2013 In Oregon, in the springtime, you can almost SEE the grass grow. It rains for three days, then clears up and gets sunny, and the grass shoots up eight inches, but remains too wet to mow for a day or two. If it rains again before it dries out, you have no choice but to wait for the next dry spell. The grass was mowed about two hours after this photo was entertained. As for the high-pitched voice, it was actually (if I recall) "Come take these @$&!! dogs outside so they stop bothering me!" Well, the dogs love to chase RC cars, so...
