58577 Nova Fox

Recommended Posts

News today of a forthcoming '58577 Nova Fox'.

This has really got my juices flowing and I thought it deserves a topic to itself.

The origin of the word 'Nova' is 'New'. New Fox?

My ideal would be a modern Fox in keeping with the vintage one on a new 2WD chassis. A Fox MkII.

The Nova Fox could be absolutely anything though....

We'll soon get more details but, in the meantime, what does everyone anticipate?

DT02 FTW! lol Remembering the Neo Falcon...

Actually a while back someone did a Desert Gator in Fox colours and it was pretty fine.

I will go with B.M.T on this one and would bet it would be a DT02 Nova Fox.

And why not, the DT02 is a good learners chassis and a pretty good with a few Hop Ups.

You have to remember in Japan and surrounding Countries the Super Fighter Cup is huge !

perhaps based on the 201 platform ? we have only seen one car other than the TRF on the 201 chassis .

I've seen a very tentative price of 200USD which would suggest a DT02.

A DN01 would be great.

I'd be happy with either, although I've got too many DT02's already.

Preference would be something new though.

There's still the chance that this could have no association with the original Fox at all....

Betting on the Nova Fox being nothing like the original Fox is the good bet otherwise it would be called a 'Fox' wouldn't it !!!!

Having lots of DT02's is unecerssary.

Each time you buy a variant of a DT02, tip the contents on the floor.

Look at what makes this DT02 different from the others.

Keep those parts, sell the rest.

When you get bored of one DT02 car, takes those parts off. Put the other parts on. Hey presto new car !

This way only one lot of electrics is needed, so simple !

plus eveytime you buy another DT02 you get the pick of the spares B)

$188 pre-order here .. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10224134

which is 50% more than the DF-02 Aero avante, and almost double the price of a DT-02 buggy, from same seller

seems more in line with DF-03 chassis prices

The DN-01 Zahhak was model 58477 so you never know what they'll do !

DT02? Maybe. One the other hand, the price is not far off from a Wild One. That seems pretty reasonable/realistic given the original Fox's plastic construction...

I'm with you on this . They will screw it up & put it on the DT02 chassis &

If so ( I WILL NOT GET ONE ) .

WOW Mr T , Please don't screw this up ....

Now who would pre-order some thing that you can't see yet ? They would have too be nut'z .?

There are also precedents for true re-releases with altered names: Buggy Champ, Super Hotshot...

As far as I know, the original Falcon is said to have some fundamental design flaws that would make this buggy hard to be re-issued in original form. Hence why Tamiya released the DT-02 Neo Falcon, which is more of a reminiscence of the original Falcon (in the spirit of the DF-03 Avante Mk.II vs original Avante). However, both the Neo Falcon and the Avante Mk.II share their true origin as Tamiya Mini4WD cars.

Does the Nova Fox have a Mini4WD counterpart of the same name? I don't think so.

And let's not forget Tamiya Japan sometimes calls the good old Frog "Mighty Frog". I think it even was initially announced with that strange name when the re-release came.

...Wild One Offroader.

I just hope it's not a Vauxhall Nova.

I'd love an M-Chassis Nova SR, haha :)

PLEASE Mr. T bring back the FOX!!

The original decals were 'Fox Racing Team' so I'm thinking more and more that it will probably be something completely new as the name suggests. Would love to see something new with the Fox Racing Team logo but name suggests not.. ?

i'm not getting my hopes up. if it's got any real DNA from the OG fox i'll be happily surprised. i'd be STUNNED if they re-released the original chassis with all its completely unique components. as i've said elsewhere i'd settle for a faithful representation of the original fox body on a new chassis, at least that way i can use the re-re body on OG chassis. i might even get a kit if it looks like the original. BUT... but... i doubt it HARD.

I don't believe it!

I'll buy some gold wheels, a sub chassis and a body immediately.
