cosworthwesty, I've not personally tested it, but there is no reason to doubt that it will work fine. The TT-02B chassis is the same as the TT-02 except for the suspension arms (TT-02B arms are longer as you'd expect), CVA shocks (longer, to match the arms), bumpers, tires and wheels. The parts list for the TT-02B Neo Scorcher (58568) has the same G spur/diff parts (51531) as the TT-02 Ford Zakspeed Turbo Capri Gr.5 Würth (58578). And the Lower Deck (51532) is the same for both. And the Motor Plate is the same (14305125).

My order from Banzai just came in. Ordered Friday, picked up at the post office today (would have had it yesterday if I was home when signature delivery was attempted). I call that FAST! Shipped via EMS.

Picked up a couple RZ motors and these carbon fiber shock towers from Square (STD-203B and STD-204B):

IMO, they are better looking than the Tamiya FRP towers (54556 and 54557).

I don't even have my Neo Scorcher built yet, so no mounted pics to show.

I'm building my TT02B atm, the steering seems a little stiff. Was it the same for you ?

Everything else is quite cool, It's a pretty good design and goes together relatively smoothly. I'm looking forward to getting some hop-ups soon :)

Just started back into RC bought my two boys one and thought Hmmm so in addition to their Lunchbox and Midnight pumpkin I now have a neo scorcher.

One issue I noticed very early was a lack of ground clearance even with the shocks on max so it was upgrade time

So far:-

Full ball race set

Aluminium prop shaft and propeller joints

Waiting on turnbuckle steering kit and metal wheel hex adapter and a full turnbuckle set.

As for the ground clearance I opted for a set of Vajra wheels and tires only test drove it yesterday but it makes a great deal of difference it has "road tires" on it so not brilliant off road but not bad at all no doubt helped by the 4WD speed is a little increased.

Not looking at changing the motor or ESC (torque tuned )

It has held up quite well even tough it has been WELL off road I have managed to damage the wing but it was after a full speed flip well OK about 6 flips from high speed on a rocky/ dirt area but no damage to the car or its function.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I'm having a bit of a dilemma.

I see I can get a TT02B MS for £118 delivered, which is tempting.

Equally tempting is a DF02 for sale locally for just £40, RTR.

Is the TT02B leaps and bounds ahead of the DF02? Or is it just a natural evolution of the same product?

I'm only going to be using it for light bashing, and the DF02 has got the stronger drivetrain (bevel gears) out of the box. The front suspension mount used to be the weak point on a DF02 - how is this addressed? Are there still aftermarket parts available?

It's hugely tempting to buy a fixer-upper and reap the reward from getting it into top shape by cleaning it and rebuilding it - but it's also alluring to build something new right from the box.

Can I get some opinions?

I know the MS has lots of hop ups as standard, but it doesn't have fancy aluminium shocks, just some nice additions. Is it worth 3x as much as a used DF02?!...

there are still alloy shock towers out there for the df-02

and then there is this one:

I am yet to see another one of these, which makes me wonder if it came from some other car from another manufacturer.

When I was researching my buggy purchase, I came across a build thread on the TT-02B which compared it to the DF-02. Let me see if I can find it...

Thanks for finding that thread, just done a little reading. Seems the. DF02 still has a lot going for it, especially if you can find one at a low price.

Which is a good thing as this afternoon this happened:

I did that exact same thing to my rising storm wing *lol*

due to the plans I have of fitting 2.8 inch traxxas monster truck wheels with proline tyres I've opted to go for a Sworkz buggy rear wing, sadly my cutting skills suck massivly, but it's fitted, and the car was running.... for 10 minutes at which point a tree stump jumped out the garden and damaged the lower arm mount *lmao*
