I bought a Brat Re re last week as an impulse purchase.

Having got it now it keeps stuttering... twitching might be a better way of describing it.

It twitches and then scoots off, same backwards and forwards.

I have a large number of used batteries for the cars, is this a sign of the batteries being past their best or an ESC related issue?

A 2nd battery seem to clear the problem up, but I thought I would ask that know!

My re-re Hornet used to do that too. Turned out to be the receiver. The old 27MHz unit wasn't very good at ignoring spurious signals, and the car would twitch and scoot off as the motor generated interference despite being fitted with caps. It would also sometimes go wandering off of its own accord whenever it picked up outside interference. A better quality RX sorted the issue.

I had the same issue with a hornet. Change the rx and it should sort the issue out. Try and keep the esc and rx as far apart as possible. Difficult I know with the brat/frog chassis.

Hi Grumpy P.

if the second battery cleared the problem,i would check the 1st battery[that showed problem] plug connector, wire and cell conections for continuity,in that order.

BR,

T.
