Well I ordered a standard grey kit for my Nephew for his first ever RC to put together from parts so he can learn something other than playing video games all the time!

and I had to get me the violet GR version..But I had to order it from some place not in the USA because no one here had the kit.

I got 2 ball bearing kits and one 3racing shock set for the DT02 chassis to see how they are.

This should be FUN ...anyone own one of these I am worried about the bodies are they strong or do they break all apart?

Not sure on the strength of the shell/wing, (I have the sand rover) maybe start with the smaller motor?, or get the cheaper lexan shell.

It will be very hard to flip this chassis with the 380motor. Depends how good at driving your nephew is?

I will be putting a 540 in it he knows how to drive... just was wondering if the body was brittle or flexible more than lets say a sand scorcher body?

The body is pretty robust on this buggy. The wing and the front shock tower take most of the abuse, so they end up with road rash, but I wouldn't say this hard body is fragile. I've actually broken a Mad Fighter wing and body, and totally destroyed a Grasshopper II body but have yet to do more than scuff up my Super Fighter shell.

I wouldn't suggest launching it over the detached garage onto the tarmac out front, but within reason it is a pretty durable shell.

Good to know thanks!

My son has the Super Fighter GR, he has given it a good thrashing and the body shell is quite tough. I have a Sand Rover 2011 and a Holiday Buggy 2010. I would recommend you get the Carson front shock tower brace.DT02Casron001_zpsf17a8dba.jpgSeen fitted and a huntersystems chassis cover to go under my Sand Rover body.DT02Casron005_zps9a0615d7.jpg

Thanks for the input.

On the GR does the buggy body stop the dirt from getting in the chassis as I have the Holiday buggy and with that body it fills up the chassis with dirt...was hoping the GR would be more sealed and not fill up with the dirt?

Supper gripper, Does that chassis cover raise the temp of your electrics at all?,

not when using something like a whimpy motor such as a sport tuned no. We have run some powerful motors such as a 19turn spec and a 17 double and nothing over heated :D using the chassis cover is no different from using a Velcro sealed buggy body.

If it were possible to get any more dirt in the chassis it would be a shovel. So, no, the body doesn't help.

Love the looks of that chassis cover though!! I seem to recall a link to a member's site that was selling these? I'd love to find that again, because that would solve one major hassle!!

>shenlonco< the Super Fighter GR body shell is a poor fit on the chassis plus the windows are not glazed so the chassis fills up with dirt. You will need a Desert Gator or Sand Viper body shell and use the velcro not body posts to form a tight seal.

Hi will the chassis cover you linked work with the GR body?

THANKS

the only place that sells them is huntersystems as it is an in house patented design. I can get some and send them to the US if you want some.

Hunter Systems will ship to Canada and Mexico, but not the United States (No such choice in Country selector on billing page in checkout). Hilarious.
