Past 24 hrs Tower & a few others in US let loose some kits but not sure if these were later stock delivered or just released from being trapped their system.

All sold out within the hour i hear.

i think these were probably pre-orders where payment didn't go through. it took so long to get my tower pre-order that my credit card expired and i would have been in the same boat if they didn't reach out to get my new details. otherwise they said they release it to be sold to someone else.

?.... am happy as a clam.

are joyous molluscs as gleeful as a live fish in a Chinese restaurant aquarium? :)

...but it's still shrink-wrapped....

afaik they weren't shrinkwrapped coming out of the shipping carton direct from the factory

I'd be thinking same, but there were at least 1 new lot popped onto fleaBay, think it was 10 units. Went quick @ USD$250

I got my two kits and am happy as a clam.

Let me know when I put you in a pot of boiling water. :P probably the same if you put me in a pot of boiling water  . sorry had to put that line in.

I still wondering why only 2500. Is not the money, even if they make $100 profit per kit is only $250,000. (is that good money for a company or is pretty good? with after market and replacment parts maybe is good money) I am sure if they make it 3000, all will be sold. At 2500 units, the price will be driven up vs if they make it as their permanent kit or say 10,000 units, kind of like Big Mac for MacDonald or as a regular stocked item, teenager of the 80's will now introduce this kit to their children, which may not do so if only 2500 kits were available..

I'm a little peeved about myself having ordered just one <_< . Didn't expect this 2500rumour to be true otherwise would have bought a second as i'm tempting to build it.My head says to better leave it NIB for the moment  hmm...

meh, not like it'll appreciate to anywhere near as rare as a MIB sealed Edinger or Cadillac original kit

Spare Parts sound cheap, anybody added up total if you bought everything in parts? :)

Is there any particular part you won't be able to buy in a spare part bag?

Everything will be available, and for a long time too, according to AE. That is where they plan to make their money, IMO.

Probably a sounder biz plan than making a glut of

kits with zero parts support after that ;)

I see the Classic is plastered all over latest issue

of RCCA Jan 2014... should spread the word!

Posted

would likely be similer to a real car at around 3X the kit price?

dunno, I haven't done the math yet

But the AE parts bags each sound cheap

and there's not too many parts to an RC10 tbh.

More so if you've already got some bits to use

like a Stealth gearbox perhaps, that's like half

the kit by parts count :)

Latest news is that the Worlds RC10 is the next one to come back. It is kit #6002.

Looks like 2014 is going to be another hot re-release year. :)

What's a decent price to pay for one of these now?

There is one locally here in California for $320.

What did they cost when initially rereleased back in July?

Posted

If I am not 100% sure, but if I remember correct, they were 249,95$ to begin with at Towerhobbies.

They are still available in Europe for 239,95€.

With all this talk about there only 2500, then I must say that RC Car Action are really slow on putting out their article/review of the Gold Pan in their Jan '14 issue

Very true. And what if the 959 and/or Blazer come back this year too?

Apparently this Worlds car is THE one to have too. Not sure if I will be able to afford two of them like I did with the #6001 though. I may have to settle for one #6002 kit and slowly build a runner out of spare parts.

Apparently, there is a listing for the 6002 kit in the back of the new RC10B5 manual. Might be good to keep an eye out for another ad blitz from associated.

HI!... Someone on another forum said they were talking to some guys at AE and apparently the final # on the 6001 kit was 3500 kits. When I bought my RC10 Classic in October I paid $240 delivered.

I'm the same Andy, probably only 1 this time, and may even sell my NIB classic to fund it

So did you get two gold RC 10's re re's ?.

Oz received 100odd kits, if hearsay is believable. There were plenty stock around at Melbourne Cup weekend.

So what's this Worlds kit we're looking forward to? Stealth... & Black plastics, black tub? Fluoro wheels & different body?

Thanks for that info, it gives me an idea of how much I'll be "overpaying"
