So I've got a Bruiser re-re and apparently they don't come with an esc of any kind. Sort of surprising for the money, but no big deal.. does anyone have any suggestions on an ideal esc? If I have to buy an esc should I just do some sort of brushless combo? I've got an LRC 17.5 motor and esc here not doing anything but that's probably not the right way to go :)

Any idea which model that is? None of the models I'm seeing on Associated's site indicate a crawler model or a drag-brake function :(

I'll have a look...

.......... and the ESC is No: 80410. You have a choice of either drag brake or neutral with double tap brakes in both directions. That's a sweet feature, and with a heavy truck like a Bruiser that can get the boogy on, you don't want it slamming on full brake every time you back off.

I use their 21.5 brushless crawler motor, they also option a 18.5 so your 17.5 should not be a problem.

I just started my build but I got a Tekin FXR for it. Have that esc in my CR-01 and both my Axials. I love it as it's brake functions are amazing as well as having lipo cutoff and the ability to run 3s with certain motors.

Cheaped out and just threw a TEU302 in there for now. If she turns out to be a go-er and not just a show-er I'll put in a proper crawler ESC and motor.

Didn't want to tangle with too many unfamiliars all at once!
