I've just aquired an Avante and I would very much like to try and get a C.R.P unit for it, as the avante was specifically designed to showcase this device, I thought it apt to try and get one to try out in it, also with such precious little room on the mechanism deck for regular Receiver and ESC combos without removing the driver figure, it seems the obvious choise to fit a combined Receiver/ESC unit to this car.

Ever since the Avante came out all Tamiya cars have the option were by they could be fitted with the Tamiya Adspec radio system which includes the C.R.P unit, many subsiquent chassis even had a special recess for the Unit to fit in, so it makes sence to fit the C.R.P unit to the Avante as it was the first car to be designed for its use.

But since I have been collecting RC's I have never ever seen one for sale, aslo I hear that they have a very limited current draw on them, meaning they cut out if anything much more that a 27T motor is connected to them :)

Does anyone have any operational experience with these units? how expensive where they to buy? (seperatly) what are their performance limitations? and what the heck does C.R.P stand for anyway??? [8)]
