I decided to convert my off road Mini (t-03 chassis) to a 911 rally car. Here's a in progress shot. I went with the HPI RSR body and Fuchs wheels. Some of the mods to get this to work included making aluminum inner wheel halves to widen the wheels so the tires would fit. Wide HPI 12mm hex adapters to space the wheels out a little further, body mounts to mimic the 911 mounts, softer springs and spacers to raise the right height. To avoid the tires rubbing the stock motor I'm switching to a brushless outrunner, which is shorter. I'll start with a 800kv and see what the speed is like. The tires are a little on the fat side, but so far I haven't found anything else that works. The tires are RC10 1.6" i.d. x 3.0" o.d. rear buggy tires. I also used these tires with the Team Associated RC 10 (gold pan) rear wheels on the mini.

Oops, meant T-05.

T-05 or M-05? These bodies usually need an "M" size chassis to fit under them.

There are M-Chassis rally tyres available. Tamiya #51427. Not sure if these will fit the HPI wheels though.

Thanks for the correction, M-05. I tried the Tamiya rear spiked tires GB-01 and they do fit the HPI wheels with no mods. The o.d. is approximately 2.5", which is too small. The knobbies in the photo measure approximately 3.0". I don't see any i.d. /o.d. specs for the rally tires. Ideal would be around 2.75" o.d.
