I have a box of spares and in it came some ESCs.

I'm hoping you that you chaps can help me find a use for them.

I have a Msonik4 RV27 ECO

And a Msonik4 Marine 15

And a Mtroniks Viper Tempo11

The 2 models that I have that could use these are my Blizter and my Xtreme.

I've got a spare Tamiya sport tuned motor and a Annsman 21 turn motor to use.

All replies gratefully received!

Off the top of my head the Tempo11 doesn't have reverse, and I doubt the Marine one will either

Consider the Sport Tuned as 23Turn motor, very similar load wise to the lower turn but less torquey Ansmann 21T

I'd run the Sport Tuned in the Blitzer - its up to you whether you run it with the Tempo11 (safe, but no reverse) or the Eco27 (would probably be OK on a 2wheel drive, relatively light Blitzer, and if it does go pop its not cost you anything ;) )

A marine ESC should have reverse. Usually what they don't have is brakes. Boats can't excactly use 'brakes', instead they need reverse thrust to come to a quick stop. They are just forward<->reverse, so unsuitable for a car.

Plane ESCs are only forward with no brakes and no reverse.

Thank you chaps.

The Marine ESC can go on eBay then.

The Bilitzer will get the Tamiya Sport Tuned motor and the Eco 27 Esc, which has go to be progress from the current old 540 and MSC.

The other Esc might as well go too, as I'll be forever running after the cars when the kids use them and get stuck with out reverse!

What do you the Ansmann 21 might be good in? Is more for 2wd or off road types of models?

I have a ansmann clash 21t in a manta ray and that runs very well without any complaint (modelsport auto sport 20 ESC). It was my first tamiya restoration/rebuild and I wanted to keep costs down at the time. Still happy with that set up now to be honest, despite mixed opinions on the clash motors

That's a nice looking buggy the Manta Ray.

The only Buggy we have is a DT02 to build, do you think it would work well in that?

This would be instead of the stock 540 the kit comes with.

It'll work fine in the lightweigth DT-02 - its not very torquey motor which with 2wd and a light front end is probably a good thing (no wheelie starts!). It should be a little faster than the silver can motor, but don't expect miracles.
