Is this possible?

I've seen people go to the length of setting up a micro-servo to power a switch before, but that seems a bit over the top for the desired result?

Is it possible to operate a TLU-01 light unit from an extra channel on my receiver?

The unit itself has a very small on-off switch which is not wired, it's actually on the face of the unit itself, so it's not like I can easily tap into the connections for it.

Is there a plug-and-play product on the market for this kind of operation?

I'm hoping there's a simple answer; but more often than not it's always a faff to achieve what I want to!!

Any help much appreciated.

The radio I propose to use is an Acoms Hyabusa 4ch I got from eBay on the cheap...

I was going to suggest a relay, but that's unlikely to work: I'm not sure if some channels work on an on/off basis, but normal servo channels use variable-width pulses at 50Hz to indicate where the servo should move to.

I was going to say that Graupner do a device that will do the trick but its exactly the same as the one Mark has linked to

OK I have seen that they are on eBay too but none in the UK. I've never ordered from there before; are they reasonable?

If anyone could help me further I have found the page relating to the 3rd / 4th channels on my radio gear. I wanted to use the same radio to control the Lights On/Off and a winch (3Racing), if possible?

I've never programmed anything outside of a servo or a speed controller before!

ok use CH-3 for the winch and CH-4 for the lights on/off in that case with the device Mark gave the link to. CH-03 will give you reel out - stop - reel in on the winch .

Right, last question (for now!)

I'm going to order the Turnigy Receiver Switch, I'm just wondering if I'm on the right tracks as far as wiring up is concerned?

I intend to break the red wire which has the two-pin plug on for the TLU-01 unit and wire both ends into the Turnigy Switch as per my terrible illustration:

As I understand it the Turnigy Switch completes a circuit so once that channel is changed into a position from neutral the TLU-01 should receive power?

That's exactly how I've got the Turnigy switch connected on 2 or my cars, and it works well. Soldered the wires and then heatshrink to protect them.

On Spektrum TX the CH3 switch is a straight on/off

On the Carson TX I have the 3rd channel is 3 position, and it only switches at either end, moving to the middle leaves the lights in whatever state they are currently in.
