Mod Class...

I had bought a 10.5t Brushless system from HobbyKing but the ESC just kept flashing at me. I 'think' I may have either damaged the ESC when soldering or my soldering just wasn't up to scratch. No instructions in the box and nothing on the internet. Wasted about 3 hours of my life on it before deciding to call it a day. Pretty unamused until I remedied the disappointment with a hammer and smashed it.

I'm now running a 20t brushed motor. Sorted.

I'm thought about running a 13.5 Brushless in the modified but going with a 23T Brushed Tamiya RZ motor.

I've got an 'easyup' gazebo with I try to bring. I know I can just fit it into my car. Trouble about downsizing from an Astra Estate to a 'city car'

I am planning on bringing a 3x3 Gazeebo just in case the weather lets us down. If anyone wants to pit with us there will be plenty of space to share etc.

I think there might be a queue outside your gazebo :)

There is a huge space available just behind the track, it is a grassed area.

It is accessible by car so you can pit with your large gazebo's and have your car boot open or just have your car right next to your pit area.

A lot of people prefer this. B)

Generators are permitted should you choose to pit on the grassed area, :D

If you do want power though and do not have a generator, you will have to pit next to the power wall right next to the track.

I will measure the gap between the power wall and the track edge next Thursday.

I will be pitting over on the grassed area. I have a 12v for charging from.

Finally got round to getting into the loft and finding my holiday buggy and lunchbox. All ready for the event now as busy next weekend.

Question... how much difference to speed will a 19t pinion on a sport tuned actually make compared to a 17t?

Ps.... packed a fresh roll of gaffa tape just incase ;-)

Right, that's me booked into the Stock class. I'll be running a standard Tamiya TEU-101 ESC with a Sport Tuned. Am I likely to suffer from overheating issues throughout the day?

I really could do with a good set of oil shocks though so can anyone recommend a set for not much money?

Have got 3 battery packs, hopefully that will be enough!

What's happening with the Lunchbox event? Is that still happening?

P.S Wasn't sure what the form was asking for with the transponder info so I inputted my crystal number/frequency. Apologies if I did that wrong.

Here's my baby, totally stock at the moment, apart from the tyres which I know I have to change for the event. :)

Nice one Wandy. Beer on the Saturday evening if you're about. J

Definitely up for that John. I'm staying with family 12 miles away in Heckfield and get there on Friday night so can make it no problem. :)

good to have you on board Andy, sent you a pm.

the over heating is not likely in the stock class, the motor does get very hot surrounded by all that plastic.

The gearbox mod will help keep your motor cool therefor it will be more efficient which in turn will reduce the amps drawn from your battery :D

The mod is optional though so its up to you really.

Looks like I'm the first official drop out!

It's been on the cards for a while but I have a family party going on over the same weekend and Im just not going to be able to make it. Feeling gutted TBH. Hopefully this one will go well and we'll have many more in the future.

Can I ask those of you that are going to take plenty of photos and videos on the day so the rest of us can drool over them pleeeeeeeese!

Right, I'm off to have a sulk and abuse my credit card!

if we have space in car mite be bring a quadcopter with fvp and gopro mounted on it and hope we can use it at site

Excellent.

I'm planning on bringing a Quadcopter too with a FPV cam to hover over the pits for some video etc. Not as tasty as a gopro tho. Need to learn how to fly the thing first :)

its Terry's pride and joy think this is version 8 or 9 has ability to hover at set level and put on auto so u can leave it and will land its self when batteries get low at set home point totally awesome to watch it do its thing

hmm not sure all i know is it is now water proof and floats on water will ask will be see him in sec and this dt-02 thing has realy got him in to Tamiya rc cars

Now steady on guys, I do like your enthusiasm but no RC use of anything is permitted outside of the track.

The track is within a sports ground and right next to multiple five a side pitches which will have things going on on it.

Please only bring the Tamiya cars that will be used on the track on the day.

J, I will ask Neil but I think I already know the answer. Great idea though.

If you are bringing things to sell then that is obviously ok but no running.

From what I understood the quad copter would be above the track filming...... Nowhere near the 5-a-side... :)

Sounds like awesome footage for us AND the RC club.... :)
