I like the simplicity of the solid link, but the 4 shock trick looks promising. I like that that setup allows the rear axle to float, but just pivot.

I've looked into trying to build a 4 link for a Lunchbox, but there just isn't enough room for a prop setup. The angle between the triangulated links is too close to vertical so the rear axle steers more than it pivots

Resurrected my Hornet a few months back, didn't need much really, radio gear was about it! Been using it as is for a while but finally spent a bit of money on it recently, new charger to give my batteries some punch and fixing this and that..

I decided I wanted to try out the mod to help fix the rear box and stop the snap when you accelerate and try and cut out some of the bounce...I'll let the pictures do the talking...

At this point I realised I needed to make a shorter link bar so I went away and did that - didn't take any more pictures.

Now it was time to fix the rear suspension mount, I broke this about 5 or 6 years ago and although it hasn't seen that much use in the years that have passed my fix worked wonderfully :)

Overall I am impressed with the mod! It cost nothing and maybe it's my imagination but it ran great on the grass! Wasn't very smooth as you can expect but seems less jumpy and certainly didn't have that snap back slap that it normally has! Was running it for about 25 minutes give or take and I only rolled it once which for a Hornet with a 23T BZ is pretty good!

Next up - Lipo power :)

I've taken a slightly different approach. I used the A13 (not used) and made it fit D8/7 flush. Afterward, I drilled a hole on D8/7 and used screws to secure the A13. The length of A13 prevent the front of the rear axles from moving up or down, similar to the mod with the turnbuckle but it's slightly more sleek IMO. Of course, you'll forever lose the ability for the rear tire to pivot like it used to.
