servo saver for dt-02

Recommended Posts

My servo saver is really loose and has quite a bit of free play in it,

Are these items from hobbyking any good?

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__23492__Blue_Aluminum_Heavy_Duty_Servo_Saver.html

I know Tamiya do a heavy duty one but that is twice the price, but is it a case of buy cheap, buy twice?

Also I know of the kimborough servo savers but I was confused as to whether it would fit the dt-02.

I can also take advantage of hobbykings postage and order a new battery at the same time.

I would not recommend them as they have a plastic insert to fit which ever servo people have.

The kimbro one is best. I use them in my DT02's

I have used kimbro for many many years and as of yet I haven't had one let me down.

I have used them in some race cars too, tough as old boots they are

Thanks but I have an acoms servo ( I should have said in my OP), so not sure if that one will fit?. I think acoms are 23 splines?

Sorry for all the dumb questions, what was the difference? was the piece I linked to solid?, with no spring?, or something else?.

I see your modelsport link now, thanks I have an account there and have always had good service there so will try that, cheers.

Glad I asked now before rushing out and getting the wrong part, thanks Supergripper.

Is this the right one?

Modelsport have it listed as a Kimbrough Airtronics / KO Servo Saver Small 23t

but it arrived in fastrax packaging.

Thanks qatmix, just had it out on the street and the steering is much tighter, but had to file a bit out of the chassis brace to stop it fouling.

Also changed the front tyres and the difference is night and day.

I bought a couple of the Hobbyking servo savers. Both broke pretty quickly.

Had the Kimbro one from Modelsport and it's worked perfectly since.

Thanks for that, glad I listened to the advice given and didn't get the hobbyking one now.
