My MB Build Thread / Questions!

Looks great, I love the alternate scheme. If you do run it, get another set of wheels. The stock wheels will flex and the gold with flake off.

yeah no - shodog's right. they are plated, not anodized. decent gold wheels are one of the hardest MB parts to find and there are no re-re's. so def take off the good shoes before you run it! there are alloy options, and blackfoot wheels also fit. but you can find a cheap set of decent used originals that you can run...

Thanks for the heads up guys.

I didn't know this.

Would it be safe to run the gold wheels on the road etc or will I be risking it?

What wheel options are there out there would like to keep the gold theme as per original MB design.

Do Wild Willy 2 wheels fit a Monster beetle? I have found some Tamiya 84326 RC WR-02 wheels

Also what size screws do I need to mount the foglights to the fog light bar?

On my MB runner I use a set of gold rims with some Proline #1062 Road Rage tires. They are smaller diameter then the stock ones so top speed with be slower. Those tires have a lot of grip on the road so watch out for rollovers. The tire's sidewall extends out from the rim so theere is less chance of curb rash. Used Monster Beetle rims do pop up on eBay, they dont have to be perfect for street running.
