Ha Ha..... remember the delay with Egress 2013, it actually became available about February 2014 !

Maybe this one will be available by February 2019.  I'm really pleased all the same if it's true.  I think I might actually buy one this time.  :D

I like the look of that Egress, but will happily hold my hand up to being completely clueless on old Tamiya and Tamiya in general (!)

What then makes that a £440 kit? I can see from the pictures that’s there’s carbon in there’s and looks like more alloy parts but is it a case of cashing in on the ‘classic’ part?

It was Tamiya's top racing buggy BITD and had all the hopups included. So the price reflects the extra complexity and quality. Its about the same price as a modern race level kit and if you have seen those compared to the entry level kits you'll see a big difference. Obviously you need to get one so you can see for yourself!

Lol. And there starts a long slippy slope 😂

i like the look of the Top Force too and that seems to be available at a more palatable £200ish.

That Egress is floating my boat though and I do fancy 4wd for the next build.

The Top Force wasn't in the same league as the Egress but it is a much simpler design...the Top Force Evo though, thats one that would risk my marriage.

If you are tempted by onroad then the TA07 is close to a race level touring car kit at a much cheaper price, at least as far as the build goes it is.

Ok will stop highjacking the Egress thread...

Off road for me. At least for now. I’ll see how this develops I think.

I look up that Evo too out of curiosity!

Is this going to be a limited run? I was informed by a shop they are only getting what people have pre-orderd because that's all they have been given🤔? I bought one when it originally was re-released so not in the market for one so to speak, but for anyone who can afford the egress (because they are not cheap) and want one do invest in one because together with the avante they are a piece of engineering art which shows tamiya at it's best!

Yep, me too. It was between the Egress and a Durga. I've wanted an Egress since 1990. I don't get to the track often, and the speed difference berteeen this and the modern DB01 would be lost on me.

It's actually madness for this kit, I'm always looking for a deal, but this was far too good to pass up, nice to see a good deal on a good buggy for a change. Looking very forward to having it next to my Avante which is still unbuilt as well lol.

Speaking of cheap, they are $379 on the RCMART site, and $339 through RCMART on ebay!!!

Shortly after I posted this I gave in and ordered through RCMART on Ebay.  I have one on order locally for $430 which I thought was a stellar price.   I guess I will have two.   They also have Avante 2011s for $330 on the site...do I need a second?

It's very cheap, let's be honest. WIll never loose on these as even if you had two and kept one under the bed for three years, you'll make money on it when you re-sell as the stock will dry up and as long as it's not a silly price you would easily get $500-$600 for it when stock isn't around! Again, this place isn't helpful if you're trying to save money and not buy more RC cars!

These would be about £337 delivered to the UK, that's a lot cheaper than the £419+ that seems to be the going rate for pre orders. I've successfully ordered parts from RC Mart but never a full kit. Has anyone here in the UK done so? I'd love one of these next to my Avante..

Yeah I've ordered quite a few kits over the years and at first it was pretty easy to get them and get through customs without getting cought (I'd never even give customs a thought🙄) but now it seems they are definitely on the ball everything I've got from a none EU country  that is remotely kit size apart from mci decals (probably because they just look like letters) gets customs charges on it🤔! Now there could be a few reasons firstly I've been told once you go on the customs & excise database for duty payments you and your address flags up don't know if its true? Also it's not just inland revenue that scan items when they arrive in the uk now it's a private companies on behalf of the IR😞?, both sound plausible as I always get charges now when ordering (yesterday I got the 2018 perfect guide and avante special edition body) and again customs charges added and it was a small box, so by all means go ahead but keep in mind probably a good chance charges will be added and if not you've been very lucky😉! (It is a fantastic buggy and does look cool sitting next to the avante)

They are a stunning pair, looking forward to one day having mine built and together as well.

@moffman thanks for that. The parts I've ordered have always been via PayPal and have never had charges, just dead lucky I guess. Think I'll contact Fusion again and see if the 10% discount to subscribers would be able to apply to the Egress. It'd be £377. 10 then so £40 dearer than RC Mart without the worry and supporting a UK shop.

Yeah thats a good way of looking at it supporting the UK hobby shop😉 my first model I got hammered with was the jun watanabe hornet and by time they charged it let it go and royal mail ( because a lot of people don't realise royal mail pay the IR on your behalf if they never it would take for ever for customs to contact you)  put a custom charge card through ya door I could have got it a little cheaper and earlier from the LHS

The BF8/9 are the lower shock mounts that Tamiya left out for some reason on the front of the rere. They stood the shocks up and gave the Egress one of it's most noticable features.
