Not only did Tamiya leave those brackets out, but I think they altered the shape of the front shock tower too. The original, more upright, less progressive shocks were key to the front end looks of the Egress, but after some study, there might be a reason for the new geometry. The new shock angle is between that of the old Egress (upright) and the Avante (lay down). Its more akin to the Vanquish angle now. With the new geometry, the chassis can touch the ground when bottoming out, which is a good thing. I'm not certain if that was possible with the old Egress's geometry. Since the Egress stupidly has the lower arm mounts molding into the gearcase sides A1 and A2 (common fault of many Tamiya buggies of the era), the impact of bottoming the shocks out before the chassis hit could be transferred to said mounts. Travel isn't generous in any of the Avante series buggies and Tamiya spent the whole time trying different ways of remedying it. So, while I may not like the looks of the re-re Egress front end, it might be better for running purposes.

Blue rod ends found! I still need to get a service for the steering, going to get a nice metal geared, high torque, high speed one. I still need to decide on the motor. My Stealth Monster Racer and Original Top Force are running Novak Brushless set ups, I might go Tamiya Brushless. I'm still contemplating ordering an original style front shock towers from Fibrelyte and their BF8 mount.

Awesome. The blue rod ends are part of the Egress's "look" in my mind. Despite all its "faults" from a performance aspect and that later, simpler buggies like the Top Force Evo took over, I still love the Avante series (the Egress in particular) the best. All that intricate and unique Tamiya design work from the the end of what I consider the golden era wrapped up in a beautiful machine.

I can't wait.  Mine is passing through customs now.  I have another coming locally too (I missed out the first time around and backordered as soon as the new batch was announced).  I'm getting a great deal on that one but RC Mart still beat it by $50.

PS here is a little tip. If you'd like the blue adjusters for cheap and not the $20 for (6) of them off eBay purchase Super Clod Buster F parts in Blue. You'll get (8) blue adjusters which is all that you need for the build. I got mine including shipping for less than $10.

At the recent Tamiya Junkies event I went to my 2013 Egress for the first time in five years only to find the Overlander lipo stick packs I have are too long for the Egress battery bay.

Gutted was an understatement, especially given I had just broken an unobtanium TRF201 front arm...

Anyone have any luck getting contemporary lipo stick packs to fit without dremelling stuff? If so hook me up...

Try a smaller mah ! I have a absima 3800 lipo with deans connection running with brushed esc and motor 17turn it gives ample power and really good running time in my egress and it fits fine🤷‍♂️  you probably find once you get passed around 4000mah they jump up in size on most manufacturer's!  and when you get to the 5000mah +  they are noticeably bigger

Ah that’s a fair shout. The 4200 sticks I have fit fine in my 201 / TDs / XV / DB01 but I’ll hunt down some smaller capacity packs.

@Howards  sorry this website is all over the place today it’s very slow and keeps on saying website not found?

yeah if you have a local or access to a hobby shop take your egress with you so you can get the biggest one that’s fits rather than guessing I did it with my RC10 because that has limited space as well unless you modify it and I’m not messing around doing that😁
