Wonderland Models price: £379.99 (RRP £459.99) - Available Nov. 12th

Wheelspin Models price: £411.69 - Available Nov. 10th

Think we can rest assured that £399 will be the UK price then. And this likely means $499, or £300ish.

Slap on shipping at £25 and we're looking at £325 shipped.

Run the risk of duty at probably £60 plus the £15 handling fee, and its £400.

Hmmmmm. I think I may go to Fusion for mine at £360 shipped with the TC member discount.

Although no longer in stock, Wonderland's Avante price was £449.99 so the Egress is 15% cheaper.

Let's hope that this means the Hong Kong price will be ~$350. :)

I'am new to rc so this will probably sound like a stupid question but why is the so expensive

Because its the single greatest RC car ever made :)

Anyone who disagree's is basically wrong, so arguing this point is futile, mwa ha ha ha haaaaaaa :P

Actually, I´m not a friend of dampers without bladder to compensate for piston rod volume inside. But I´m out of buggy racing since the late 90´s, and all the Tamiya TRF´s running nowadays without bladder. Is it just because of bigger jumps, where the bladders can crack due to the high compression force?

You would have to ask the pro racers that figured this one out back in the early 90's. Bladder-less buggy dampers are even making occasional appearances on touring cars in certain conditions...

It was short lived on the 417 V5. The TRF418 is back to dampers with bladder. My understanding was that the bladder-less shocks we useful only on low traction I think (?)

Short lived? The V5 was specifically a replica of Groskamp's "Worlds" car featuring his race-winning setup. The 418 is a standard chassis with a standard base setup reflecting no specific driver, setup or track. As for the aeration dampers, they are simply a tuning option.

Yes, I believe they are ideal for bumpy asphalt.

The V5 is now obsolete, being replaced by the TRF418 which went back to standard dampers. In my view if a tuning option doesn't follow suit to the next generation, its short lived. Thats just my opinion.

I also heard that the aeration dampers were a nightmare, after every heat they needed to be topped off.

Your view is flawed. Racing is all about the right setup for the right conditions.

And yes aeration dampers need lots of attention. The same is true for offroad. Typically they are setup with all the air bled out (negative rebound), which means frequent rebuilds as air works it's way past the seals.

Thanks to you and Raman for your opinions! I guess it´s up to the rebound adjusting theme. Egress is fine with the grey Hicaps! For my person I rebuilt my Dynastorm dampers back in 1997 with bladder, to get the same action as in the Hicaps. But that was long ago before I was in a club or did even know about rebound. Back to the Egress now, I would say...

Will a driver figure fit into the Egress? The one thing I'm not keen on with this buggy is the blacked out windows. I fancy cutting them out and fitting window net each side with a driver peering out of them, with the front window cut out altogether, Hornet stylee.

With old electronics youn could'nt fit a driver easily. But with a small 2.4 ghz receiver and repositioning the ESC etc, I would assume you can fclear enough space on the upper deck for a driver. I have the CPR P-160F in mine, and that's huge ;-)

Here's a showroom entry with clear shell:

I made some test about driver figure on the Egress.

The best driver figure is the Avante one.

The Avante driver perfectly fits on the Madcap, Vanquish, Astute, Super Astute and other cars but doesn't fit very well on the Egress.

On the Egress there's enough space. There's too much space. The driver cockpit is too short for the Egress so tto many rooms remain in front of the driver and on the back of the driver.

I not sure how I can solve this problem. Maybe a double inline drivers? Like the Grumman F-14 Tomcat for example?
