Yep, me too. Mid November availability though? What's that all about?

As expected though, it will be cheaper than the Avante. :)

I don't get it, why is it more expensive than the Avante here in the US?

Where in the US is quoting a higher price than the Avante?

Just got my pre-order mail from Stella "The estimated price per kit is US$400, the exact price will be confirmed nearer to time of delivery of stock to us.

"

Got my email too

Email received, 2 confirmed. EXCITING!

So you are going with Stella, not Fusion?

Looks like we are going to get it for a delivered price around the £290 mark, providing we beat import duty.

The MSRP on Tamiya's site is higher than the Avante, $822 versus $782. In addition, Tower has it the Avante at $489 and they Egress at $559

Yeah I think so, 2 should come to just shy of £500, which is a lot less than £720. I can't imagine postage being much more than £50 and with duty about £660 ish. That spare £60 would pay for a motor, esc etc.

Finally!!..................

Good god man, 8? You could keep Tamiya going single handed with orders like that ;) Makes me feel less greedy getting two ;)

To be fair, even the Japanese MSRP is higher for the Egress, and I guess they base that on the buggy being a better performer and therefore having more prestige. The fact is though that material spec wise it is a cheaper kit to produce and therefore will be cheaper for stores to buy in bulk, which can therefore be passed on to the customer.

I can't foresee Tower discounting it deeper than the Avante. In pre-order state is 32% off msrp. By release it will more likely hit 38% which is where the Avante lies. So it could eventually settle around $515.

I have my two ordered , would have got more & will later :D .

Just have to get things in under $1000. so we don't have to pay import

duty etc .

WOOHOO !! not long now , Why so expensive , for what is in it ?.

Nothing compared too to the Avante .....

Stella saying $400 and could change when official release + the shipping.

i wished if it is around $ 360 + shipping since no presence for Titanium Screws and motor.

COs what we are used too, the 2 Avantes ( re re and the BS ) were released with motor....so this legendary Egress MUST come up with Motor at Least.

At the end, what we can Do !!,,,Tamiya releases and we buy

Cheers

ok as im not so up to date with the new TRF buggies, but what would you get $ for $/£ for £ compared to getting a TRF for the same money? would you get a better buggy getting a newer buggy ? out the box not with extra bought hop ups?

Differences i can see initially to the orignal..

re-re uses bigger motor pinion (22T is stock )

added foam pad to motor plate (as Vajra)

Vajra ball diffs, outdrives and CVDs

rear anti roll bar drop link attachment is now to a buching and ball nut, rather than the ball stud of the original

Avante 2001 rear arm pivot ball clamp/mount

thicker rear shock tower (machined at base to fit slot in the N part)

thicker and new design front shock tower

front cross member plate reversed

gold uprights as Avante 2011/Vajra with the little screw to limit steering

5mm ball stud for beefed up sterring link to servo

revised design turnbuckles

flatter front shock angle due to no BF8/9 brackets

Confirmation of no separately provided original BF4 & 5 parts though, or any mention of the original front shock set up whatsoever. Oh well. <_<

The color is changed and not only the color.

Original was PS-12 Silver, here is PS-41 Bright Silver.

Not a minor change imho.

Avante 2011 had them , so why not ;)

It was never mentioned in any of the pre-release bumph for this one though, whereas they made a point of highlighting it for the Avante & SRB re-release. A nice little surprise late in the day. Wonder if they will fit each tyre in the four corners of the bodyshell compartment like the original too?
