I use 13.5 LRP & LRP esc on a vintage Egress & that runs fine .

Thanks man! I cant find any LRP motors etc on Modelsport. Is that a sign that they have issues? Also, what do you think of Team Orion? I'm looking at this like a complete girl, but the motors look rather tasty in grey and would suit the car rather nicely ;)

The page on the Tamiya Japan site (English version) has been updated.

Included in the new info: "The Egress has been truly revamped across the board, and it also features a brushless motor."

Typo? I assume it is, as in the list of required items, it still says "540 type motor".

Still, the pics previously linked by the Tamiya Blog are here too.

Almost there chaps! Almost there...

You don't have to use LRP , as is what i had . You can use any brushless system .

Not too sure how much the Egress can take with the brushless , But now it's a re re we can try :D ..

I may use a 10.5 & li-po , as i do have this setup in my Boomerang & it goes well .

I have never used orion so some one else may have .

I have a Speed Passion Reventon Pro combo in my TRF201, and will most likely fit a similar set in my Egress, but a slower version of the motor. Both the motor and speedo are a really nice gunmetal colour, and would look ultra slick in the Egress chassis.

I think it means the pic below .

Possibly, but that pic is a brushed motor, as far as I can tell.

I think they mean that the internals have been upgraded to be compatible with brushless. Can't see them packing a brushless motor, unless it is a limited edition bonus part? Even then, doubtful.

I have a speed passion reventon pro in my vajgress, havnt run it yet though, but it is a high quality sensored system, and there are others running 8.5's in their rere avante's etc.. I have no qualms running an 8.5, i think it'll be fine....

Thanks for the info guys! So, I'm guessing this 9.5 Speed Passion Rev would be totally cool for an Egress then? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/speed-passion-reventon-s-esc-2s-comp-v3.0-9.5r-combo/rc-car-products/379165

Is a 9.5 turn which I'm guessing would be close'ish to an old school Dynatech 02H? That was a 13turn motor right? Or something similar.

I have the 8.5 in my TRF201, and it absolutely flies. I was thinking of going for a 10.5 in my Egress, and then share this kit with my Dyna Storm.

Edit:

This is the one I have in my TRF201: LINKY!

Ive used a Novak 8.5 in my Avante Black with zero issues.

Well no one wants to purchase my Original Avante, so Im thinking IM going to convert the BS to an Egress once the parts start flooding the Market. I already have the Front and rear lower suspension parts.

Does anyone know if the Lipos that are made to look a bit like the NIMH packs will fit the Egress?

Like this

Knowing that the front chassis stay only allows for 134mm and even big NiMh packs don't fit, I'm convinced that I'm going to have to drill the chassis plates and move the front chassis stay forward.

Well, 2 weeks out and we have covered just about everything in this thread except for bonus items ! What will it be ? A brush, a t-shirt or something we can actually use like DF03 wheels or an extra body set. Or will it be totally sans bonus parts ? Lets take a few pot shots and see who gets it right.

I'm hoping for pink lightweight wheels (kinda the reverse of the BS, where the pink were standard, and the black were a bonus), but don't think it's likely.

I reckon a wheel set will be in there. Probably black DF-03 wheels. That's my guess.

I'd suggest if anything the pink wheels - they must have a stash of those that aren't ging anywhere fast.

Only issue is whether with blister packs there will be room for such bonus items ?

Well they snuck in a set of DF-03 wheels and a t-shirt into the initial Avante re-re, so those little packing masters will manage something I'm sure ;)

dont think it will have any bonus parts....if so, then they should include ESC and motor ( same as planned for the Avante ) which is obviously not included :)

It should include box of tissues to wipe away the tears that result from the missing front damper setup. The only unique feature of the original Egress. <_<

:lol::rolleyes:

You may be eating your words if the bonus parts are the old BF4 & 5 parts!

Or to clean up the "Happy" mess when the Egress arrives !
