It'll be the same for all UK retailers - they are at the mercy of Tamiya Japan and Hobbyco in the UK as their distributor.

All you can do is lodge pre-orders with various retailers, although I doubt this will be a very limited release; the only reason Mr T would do that would be if some tooling was damaged in the typhoon and its not economical to replace, or source elsewhere.

Crikey. This is turning into something of a farce. Why are they showing it as in stock then?

Associated have obviously slipped Mr T a fee to make their launch look good

Don;t fret though guys, they will be around - heck Tamiya could always get bodyshells elesewhere if needbe to complete kits.

Let's not forget this 'farce' is all down to nature; and a few bits of plastic are rather immaterial in the bigger scheme of things.

Worst case you can always buy a Vajra and convert it ;)

Fusion are showing it as in stock though. That's very misleading IMO.

Even if they did lose tooling i don't think that would stop them from making new tools, even if it meant they would make a loss. It would be the perfect way for them to demonstrate how much power they have.

yeh, the thing of it is they add it on the website weeks ago with the projected release daye as being 2nd december then the website counts down the days automatically. Then when you (or I ) phone up and say "now about this egress" they go "ah errr yeh..... they didnt come in" so they have to go and change the website manually.

Not really a good enough excuse is it? That was two days ago.

yes, but im sure there are people on here that have bought 3 or 4 of them never to see the light of day that will happily show you a picture of them all

Just spoke to Fusion, she's got 7 coming in and her supplier has 'confirmed' that they are in transit, and 'should' arrive on Tuesday, but beyond that, they know no more.

Something tells me that from that first (and last?) small batch a handful of them were whipped out to exporters based on orders. Who knows.

I've kept my order in place and she's going to give me a ring on Tuesday to confirm if they've arrived and to ship mine out.

I spoke to Joanne at Fusion Hobbies last week regarding the Egress. They have 5 on order from their supplier and only 4 pre orders from customers that means that last week there was one spare for pre order. She also told me that they were expecting their delivery around the second week of December.

Joanne also has a part time job. That means sometimes there is no one available to answer the telephone. Try after 3 o'clock and you should get a reply. I've dealt with Fusion many times and they are fine.

Steve.

We're hearing different numbers, that's odd, but yeah, from past experience, Fusion are fab!

Well if the supply issues are resolved and it becomes a model available for many years, console yourself you weren't the one sinking £1000-£1400 into a load of plastic that you can't recoup your investment on for at least 10years - just a scenario ;)

That is it. My nerves are frayed. I am unsubscribing this thread as every time i get an email when a post is made it reminds me my new toy is not here. I will be back (hopefully) with pictures once the posts been. Good hunting guys!.

Been there! Years ago, I got heavily into collecting Star Wars figures, originally for myself, but then later as an investment. Then the bottom dropped out of that market, and I lost interest in Star Wars (thank you Mr Lucas for making such dire prequels!). Now I'm stuck with boxes and boxes of mint on card figures that I can't get rid of.

With the Egress, I just want to buy it, build it and race it! No worries about depreciating value there! :)

On an Egress-related note, my Hex heads Egress screw set finally arrived yesterday, after waiting for the best part of a month.

Very slick set, with each size individually bagged and labelled. My hop up set for the Egress is now complete (front and rear alloy knuckles, front alloy wishbone hanger and hex screw kit). Just hope that Stella or someone else comes through with a kit now!

I would think it is probably not the factory's equipment in Cebu that is the issue but the workers and more specifically the workers families. Many would probably have taken emergency leave and gone to Tacloban or northern Cebu, to help their families. Pinoy family are BIG and they are also very much extended families. So I wouldn't be surprised if there were no workers in the Cebu factory that didn't have at least a few cousins who have lost houses or worse. I wouldn't be surprised if the factory has a very low production rate for a few more weeks yet before they can get back to full swing again. So, I wouldn't put any faith in the rumours that they won't be more Egress shipments. It is just a delay.

Was that at StarGek?

Sorry for the delayed reply. I was on vacation and chucked all devices that didn't remotely look like they should be there. ;)

You're absolutely correct. I bought them from a LHS who got the stocks from Stargek.

Big hold up & has not come out yet ! IN FULL FORCE .

There has been some that got shipments & sold them ,

But there is a big hold up , we think it's the typhoon that came

through .

Dear God, what are you talking about?

Me and my other half agreed months ago what we would like from each other for Xmas and how much we would spend. I have already bought her stuff and she has been waiting patiently for me to give her the nod to spend the funds on the Egress. Now, since it looks like Tamiya are not going to be able to deliver I am considering scrapping the idea so that she can still give one of the many other "acceptable" gifts on Xmas day.

Unless you think she should get me a Xmas day gift and then an Egress a couple of weeks later?

Since you both know what you are getting for Xmas, all she has to do is paypal the funds to you and present you with a nicely wrapped up box with a note that says "Rain Cheque for an Egress and One Night of Passion as Interest for Each Day of Delay". That way, you get to enjoy the fun of "unboxing" your future gift during Xmas and payment in kind for each miserable day of anticipation. Plus you get to unbox it again when it arrives.

I purchased my egress from jr-rc 3 weeks ago and still no sign of it. I asked for a tracking number but no reply......

.... Ps that pic in this forum of a guy unboxing a pair of them has me green with envy! The box art looks amazing!!!!!!.

That doesn't sound right. jr-rc usually ships his kits by EMS with a tracking number and it shouldn't take that long.

LOL, that guy unboxing the pair of Egresses is me. Yes, its an amazing example of what a Tamiya kit should look like inside and out. Oh and it smells just like the Tamiya kits I had as a kid. It really brought back a lot of good memories.

It won't be as collectable/valuable as the original, which have already taken a beating with this reissue. And don't expect prices to rise significantly in the short run as reissued Avantes (2011) and Bruisers have actually gotten cheaper.

Currently, there appears to be a delay in kits reaching the stores in sufficient quantities to satisfy all of us. Some of us speculate that this could be due to some "Made in Philippines" components of the kit that were affected by the recent Typhoon.
