Are any of you going to run this bad boy? Or is going to be like Gastens and me (only ones on here that I know run the Avante BS) and be the minority.

Not only am I going to run it, I'm also planning on racing it in my local track's vintage class. I have a load of upgrades to fit during the build, and will be running a 9.5 or 10.5 Speed Passion setup. My TRF201XR has a SP 8.5, and that thing flies. I think that a motor that quick will cause excessive wear on the gearing, especially as there is no slipper clutch.

Some nasty bugs doing the rounds, both my little'ns are ill and I'm going downhill fast. Get plenty of pre-egress building rest my good man ;)

Thanks chap. Not got any sleep at all last night as my throat is just so sore! :(

Have you had a chance to run your Egress with the 9.5 SP motor yet? I'm intrigued to know how this chassis handles this much power.

Yeah a brief run and it handles it just fine IMO but I've not put it through its paces to really test it I guess.

I ordered from Tamico in Germany, they just emailed me to say they are shipping now!

Total price £320 shipped and no customs fees to pay as they are in the EU, should be here in 2-3 days.

Thats a good price - cheaper even than Fusion Hobbies after TC discount

Ooooh nicely done man! My second one has come in at £337.50 (Fusion) which is still a pretty tidy price, and with my Banzai price of £290 all in, the grand total for two has been £627.50, which is £130 than I'd budgeted as I was convinced these bad boys would eventually set me back nearer £400 a pop.

Yes I worked out the hong kong prices to be pretty close to Tamico, so went with them, mainly just so it doesnt end up sitting in customs forever.

Hey chaps,

Just shot a super quick video of the Egress in action. Nothing special, just stuck my phone on the ground and drove up and down the street a couple of times, but you'll get a good feel for the car none the less.

YEY my Fusion order just arrived and came packed with a Tamiya catalogue! Result! Only downer is (and no fault of Fusions as it was very well packed) the box had been dented, bummer. On the plus side, my mint box from Banzai will house this kit and my dented box will be for my built one.

Does anyone know of any road/tarmac tyres that are hard wearing and will fit the Egress wheels? I know that two full battery runs will decimate these hybrid spikes.

Posted

I was going to say that when I saw your vid I nearly cried when you took those hybrid spikes out on tarmac!

I have a set of DF03 wheels (2.2") with a set of Proline Dirt Hawg tyres glued to them that I will be using for Egress tarmac testing. I also have a set for my TRF201 and they are great, and really long lasting.

My kit just arrived too! Opened the box to check everything is present and correct, and now packed it up again for when I feel well enough to start the build.

huuuh,, i am waiting for both: Stella and Banzai-Both have no news!!

Soooooo strange, Europe has stock while main countries for Tamiya Supply ( Japan and China ) has no single news!!

pleaaseee we want to bee happy , been under stress a lot fo the past days..Days!? no, months looooooooool ;)

This is not strange at all - the only reason europe sellers have stock is that the first shipment has finally arrived, two-three weeks behind the shipment local to the Far East.

No idea how many kits Tamico had, but I suspect they will sell out shortly - Fusion got six and I dare say Timetunnel , Radshape, wonderland and Modelsport only got a similar number each

This is only first batch shipped, pre typhoon - no panic, not limited, bigger things in life etc etc

Good News for Stella Customers! ( i am :) )

This week they will receive a consignment this week and details will be uncovered by tomorrow..

So my feeling says : this is Egress consignment

Cheer up mates!

No news from them so far today. Unless I'm still not high enough up the pre-order waiting list.

Dirt Hawgs work well on tarmac but that's about it. They are 2.2" so they will not fit Egress wheels. If you get a set of DF03 wheels, they will work. Only problem is they are considerably taller than typical buggy tires which makes for an odd look & gearing. For 4WD I much prefer DF03 High Density K spike tires on DF03 wheels. They come with molded inner foams and fit DF03 wheels perfectly. They work fantastically well on and off road and seem to last forever even with a good amount of power.

Schumacher do 2.2 'on-road buggy tyres'

Venom88 are apparently very good, but not tried them.

I did have some RT Road and Track tyres that came with a set of Avante 2001 rims - i never ran them but they looked as though they take a little abuse :D

I have followed this thread with passion but unfortunately I'm a casualty of this delay. I just can't finance this now at this time of year. The wait got me looking out for vintage cars again and now I've picked up a complete Super Astute with a Technigold motor for half the price of an Egress 2014. I will have to withdraw my pre order with Stellamagic.

Stoked for the Super Astute pick up but bummed on the Egress fail.
