mheald, I just watched your video. What is going on with your throttle finger? You need to really smooth out your power delivery. Be smooth on the trigger/stick when accelerating and your car will thank you. Constant repetitive applications of large amounts of torque will quickly ruin your drivetrain (especially ball diffs). You wouldn't drive your 1:1 car like that would you?

With electric motors you have massive amounts of torque available at all times, especially at slow or zero speed. With internal combustion engines this is quite the contrary, and torque ramps up as the engine accelerates (to a point) and then bleeds off again. You definitely do NOT want to be punching the throttle on an electric system over and over again.

My tally is getting dangerously close to 50 again :(

Dave, I'm going to stop looking on Ebay or Gumtree from now on and just PM you next time I have the urge to buy a vintage car. I'm sure you would have something for me and it would save me sore eyes, squinting at my phone late at night. ^_^ < me squinting emoticon.

I have followed this thread with passion but unfortunately I'm a casualty of this delay. I just can't finance this now at this time of year. The wait got me looking out for vintage cars again and now I've picked up a complete Super Astute with a Technigold motor for half the price of an Egress 2014. I will have to withdraw my pre order with Stellamagic.

Stoked for the Super Astute pick up but bummed on the Egress fail.

I am in a similar position. Got bored of the wait and bought a Wild One using some of the Egress funds. Unfortunately that has also turned into something of a disaster too, as that has not arrived yet either, but that is a story for another day.

If the Egress does arrive soon I will still probably be able to stretch the funds to accomodate it but in reality I would prefer it if this kit now turned up in about 6 weeks time.

The Egress appears to be in store here in Germany (Seidel, Tamico) and Behold the first friendly Tamiya fans are offering Cars with a small profit of 50-75€ to there fellow collectors.

(that excludes shipment)

Some words are coming to mind right now.

Sorry dad! I'll be sure to give it an extra blast of full throttle just for you ;)

Need some advice experts.. Torque splitter or solid centre?. And I saw in the manual that the rere uses 4x 5mm rod ends along with the 6mm ends so i don't think the vintage 6mm egress rod ends i bought are going to fit?. Has anyone else seen this?. Lastly i am thinking of maybe doing the eggy black like the 1/32 ? Tamiya mini 4wd egress. Lastly where are you getting the avante 2001 shells and does anyone know a good place to get white egress wheels cheap?.

White wheels 84280 should be cheapest on ebay. Either jr-rc or samurai-japan-2009.

Torque splitter is really for racing only, I wouldn't bother with unless you just want to see the difference. If you use it on the street, you run a much greater risk of spinning out and wrecking. It renders your front brakes inoperative which severely hinders the stopping power of 4WD buggies. It also means you could be swapping ends pretty much every time you touch the brakes.

Ps, can someone please tell me the dimension of an tamiya cpr unit?. The cpr-01 expec unit i have is huge!. May try to change it for an adspec cpr100f is considerably smaller. Thanks.

Cheers for all the tyre suggestions chaps! Just wish there was something to fit the standard wheels. Feels wrong sticking any other wheels on this beauty.

Mark consider foams! Schumacher Contact fit great on buggy rims, youll only need to trim the ribs on a wheel set, which is a quick easy job, then stretch and bond!

Foams are a blast on asphalt and youll get great wear!

Thanx 4 the help 94eg!. On a side note, what do you guys reckon will be the next rereleases?. I think we will not get an avante 2001 now that they have released the shells. Personally i really want a vanquish rere and truck wise i would love a blazing blazer.

The best choice for the easy driving and to prevent failure on the transmission is the Avante center ball diff.

I used my Egress on the track with all ball differentials (front, center and rear) and this is the best set up imho.

Siedel have them showing in stock now at Euros 349.99 - even with poor sterling exchange rate and shipping charges, that is £50-60 less than modelsport, with no risk of import duties.

I get the impression that Modelsport do well enough to not feel the need to run discounts. I've bought a few cars from them in the past, including my RC10, but on the whole I tend to buy mainly parts, tyres etc from them. Nice and friendly bunch though, always willing to help.

I wonder if this is the longest (in page count) running topic for a yet 'fully released' Tamiya car? At 66 pages it must be up near the top!

Quite possibly for Tamiya ; although the RC10 re-release on RC10talk got to 74 pages before there was any real news of a release ad ca 100 pages before the first photo of a kit delivered !

After my recent purchases, I am kinda hoping stella do not get stock till new year.

My poor credit card is whimpering already.
