The status of my kit is 'pending customs inspection' - does that mean I've been caught?

I t might do, but it's no certainty.

I've not seen those words on any of my items, even when i've had charges to pay. Wandy's recent Wild One debarcle where they inspected the contents and requested the true value so correct charges could be calculated is below..

Nope. It just means they haven't looked at it yet.

I have seen it before. It is just another way of saying "awaiting customs clearance."

This kind of thing puts me off buying from Hong Kong etc as it takes so much longer and you don't know the end cost. The other Egress I have came from Seidel and it was here in days, but then as I was on the Stella list too I thought it would be rude not to get their kit when they sent the email! I wanted to stay in good standing with them in case they are the only people who have 959 kits when they are re-released this year (just a little wish of mine!).

Stella will have put a low value, so if it doesn't get opened up/queried then you will probably be looking at ca £30 fees including the handling fee

If they open it / or calculate based on true cost then you'll be in for ca £65-70 fees I'd guess, in which case the landed cost will onyl be simialr to buying from Seidel/Tamico or FusionHobbies with full TC discount. You' ll not lose out buying from HK, but you could be better off - positive thinking ;)

Dude, when you mentioned the 959 there, I thought it was a go...don't get my hopes up you cruel dude ;)

Sorry dude, that was why I put the comment in brackets afterwards so it didn't start a rumour!

I'm hanging out for the 959 too - I've had my index finger hovering over the 'Buy it Now' button too many times on those £1,200 NIB vintage kits but always backed out! I know as soon as I buy one they will announce the re-release. 2014 is our year - sending positive Porsche shaped thoughts to Mr. Tamiya :-)

Big box from Stella arrived today, was sent on 6th.

Should be what I think it is, didn't have space/time/energy to wrestle it open tonite.

They've been, umm, 100% truthful on their declaration. :)

Not that I've hinted to them for any tax evasion, mind ye...

Been away at work all week and found a nice box from stella waiting for me.

Great packaging and the kit box is in perfect condition,

I seem to have had a break from customs charging me aswell ,( no fees) :)

All I have to do now is find the time to build one

Does this mean I have avoided customs charges? I put the code into Parcelforce's website instead of Hong Kong Post...

Ha, true true. I just did my Avante 2011 in gun metal and sweet jeezus, it looks real nice! Seeing a different colour can be nice, but you have to pick well.

Yeah I'm going gun metal Mark, its a lovely mix with the yellow and orange, think ill slam the dampers for a low ride parking lot type gig, stretch the wing out way back, white tyre lettering is a must lol, retro the old girl something awful!

Pondering a two to three colour body shell, but it never seems to work for me on Tamiyas with lovely decal sheets. Do you have pics of the 2001 shell, can't way to see some of these fitted to the 2013 Egress chassis'

Need some rims for some foams though, where did all the wheels go lol, I've a few white sets i can dye, even pondered a green set for a BS variant, think i really need a second car TBH lol.

Lee, thats a great choice for paint. My self was planning to Paint it GM but since I don't have any box art body I did this one and will paint another body with GM...:-)..
