EDIT: WRONG THREAD SORRY. THIS SHOULD GO IN AVANTE 2001 RE-RELEASE BODY THREAD.

This is my poor Avante 2001. I will make the new body as soon as possible. This is my Avante 2001 configuration that is slightly different from boxart and is far away better than original configuration imho. I'm sure Haider's eagle eye will notice immediately the difference, so I wait for a comment about, keeping in mind that the job on this car is not yet began.

For anyone interested, here's the Avante 2001 re-re bodyshell mounted on an original Avante 2001...

Have you figured out how you are going to fix the driver to the chassis without drilling the upper deck? :)

I'm using an original 2001 driver so I've not got the issue as yet. I'd never personally drill a carbon chassis plate, I'd find some other way of attaching it. Most likely, I'd get some glue and a sheet of plastic to re-create the original :)

Well i just got done fitting my electrics, neat as i can muster with such a quirky set up, did fit it all on the lower deck, but the wiring is a pain this way, and, relocating the aerial wasn't floating my boat, can be done with the right gear though!

Did have to fit my servo to the outside of the servo posts though, as I'm using the hop up servo saver, which has no "kink" in the horn to move it away from the prop shaft, all works well. Just need some stick packs lol, all I've got are saddle Nimh.....doh!

pair of good servos used to cost same as whole car kit BiTD

as did an ESC and a nicad 1200mAh Racing Pack

I heard that, remember forking out for a Nosram Dominator power and a KO 40Mhz Mercury RX a long while back, cost more than the TC3 i was running haha!

Swap out the Tamiya battery plug for a Deans and it would be even better.

Also, consider routing the servo wires away from the endbell of the motor. Lots of electrical noise being generated there.

Id just buy the KO Propo equivalent Haider and save a lot of money. The Tamiya Volac has that horrible cheap blue over chrome finish too, that just picks off if you get the faintest bit of solder spatter on the casing, hence, my Volac is minty new, but with non of the metal finish, i took it all off with acetone after i chipped a bit off, so annoying. Besides, the KO ones, along with the MuchMore and Hara model, have that lovely carbon finish too.

Im re routing the servo cable TBH, hate it this way, ill figure something nicer out! No on the Deans, hate those things, and I'm not running for performance it may just get a couple of tarmac teasers and be shelved again, if i was to want to really kill it, id go with Corally tubes, Deans suck!

Nice plan with the Egress,,,me too i will take it out on tarmac and no way to throw it on dunes/sands... :D

Well, my rollers finished pretty much. Going to get the the electric install tomorrow. Love the GM paint, not a great fan of the silver TBH, but i will paint one for prosperity later. Still want some black wheels, can't find them for love nor money, have they been swallowed up, anyone wanna sell me some, need to true up some foam tires.

Went for an insane long wing angle, just adds some 80's flair i think. I used the blue tie rod ends, i have two Hansell Vintage carbon towers, just need some lower metal brackets still.

Anyhoo, happy overall, lovely build, silly usual Tamiya quirkiness and OTT way of doing stuff, but thats why i love them, oh i did drop the suspension somewhat, used a 5mm spacer in the front, think it was 8mm in the back.

Loving that, Lee. What a stunner. Not completely sold on the wing position yet but it will probably grow on me. B)

Hehe, i just wanted to go nuts on the wing mate, i can drag it down some, just wanted a low riding drag racer look, and its different.

May get the other shell cut this weekend for a spot on box art, and wet decals this time.....gotta try it some time!

Here is a fresh news about the Egress from 1 of Tamiya big Dealers in Japan:

Good day Haider,

Thanks to you we are doing fine, we hope that you are doing great too. We regret to inform you that the Egress remains out of stock as Tamiya Japan has ceased production. I shall inform you when there is any news on the restock for Egress.

Thanks again for shopping with us. Have a nice day, and please let me know if I can assist further. I will always try my best to serve you better!
