You mean the tab on the front of the gearbox Whale22? Yeah I think it would stop the front lifting on acceleration but allow it to roll side to side. Those stabilising bars don't look very nice IMO. I came to the conclusion that unless you have the skills and tools to give this type of gearbox independent suspension, you just have to love it for what it is :)

Ah yes, that tab of course. :blush:

I think it's a remainder of Grasshopper stock on the vintage car - just a gearbox angle stopper of sorts...

With the chassis mounts of the Hornet (more towards the rear), I don't even think it reaches the chassis.

Probably why they left it off on the Hornet later (still shows on the reissue Grasshopper).

So I would say the stabiliser set works fine without.
