Hornet rear stabilizer work on re re hornet?

Hi-

I seem to recall the gearbox on my old hornet having a small tab of plastic that would have worked with this:

The new hornet gearbox has no such tab. I can't imagine the rear stabilizer would work without a mod. Anyone recall?

You mean the tab on the front of the gearbox Whale22? Yeah I think it would stop the front lifting on acceleration but allow it to roll side to side. Those stabilising bars don't look very nice IMO. I came to the conclusion that unless you have the skills and tools to give this type of gearbox independent suspension, you just have to love it for what it is

Ah yes, that tab of course. :blush:

I think it's a remainder of Grasshopper stock on the vintage car - just a gearbox angle stopper of sorts...

With the chassis mounts of the Hornet (more towards the rear), I don't even think it reaches the chassis.

Probably why they left it off on the Hornet later (still shows on the reissue Grasshopper).

So I would say the stabiliser set works fine without.
