Reverse rotation motors

Ahh, you try and help someone to correct misinformation and just get yelled at for it.

So I came across an eBay auction that purported to be selling a "very rare" reverse rotation Kyosho Le Mans 240ST motor. I won't post a link to it but it's easy enough to find. Looking at the picture of the motor it was obvious that the motor was counter-clockwise rotation (arrow on the label) which is, in the world of RC, considered "normal" rotation.

So I sent the guy a note saying "Just an FYI that counter-clockwise rotation is normal for RC car motors. It's not reverse rotation. Clockwise is reverse. Good luck with your auction."

And I received this note back: "No you are wrong counter clockwise is reverse rotation . Forward rotation is clockwise . So your telling me all electric motors run backwards clocks , vacume cleaners , blenders . You are wrong. Good day sir"

Some times you gotta just laugh.

Kyosho USA-1 motors, they are Mega 360 and one is labeled ''reverse rotation'', the other is standard counter clockwise. It's the only clockwise motor I know, but Im sure there are others

Ebay is (more than) full of "very rare" junk

People will dissasemble old rc cars in very bad shape (rust on metal parts, dirt, wear) and sell each part as "vintage". Some don't even bother and sell them as whole, bonus with missing/broken/damaged parts

Amusingly, he's actually included your question and response in his listing. His reply makes him look silly.

Traxxas makes a 21T 550 reverse rotation motor for the E-Revo.. it fits great in my Clod! haha

I also have some old school Trinity Speed Gems 2 19T's for a Clod.. one is normal rotation and one reverse rotation
