Ok so looking to step into the modern era and replace my bag of 27mhz transmitters with one 2.4ghz transmitter I can use with all my kits(I have 5) but have no idea what one I should be getting.

Not looking for anything fancy just a good basic stick transmitter with cheap compatible receivers since ill have to buy 5.

I can't give ideas of my budget as I don't know what prices these start at etc but as it will just be bashing I'll be looking at stuff at the entry level.

Don't buy the acoms 2.4ghz stick radio, I have 2 and they are both faulty. Only had them just over 1 year.

The sticks have worn out and do not centre anymore and also on one radio the steering trim has stopped working which is most annoying.

sorry can't advise what to buy but avoid the new acoms stick radios.:(

I would have a look at the Hobbyking HK-GT2B 3CH mate . No need for a fancy multi memory transmitter as the 2.4 GHz units bind to each receiver when you swich the unit on anyway . They retail for under £30 and extra receivers are under £6 each . Its nothing fancy but it does the job well for the money . BTW Hobbyking have a uk wearhouse so there's no problem's with customs duty ect and no waiting weeks for your order .

Have rummage through Hobbykings site mate - there are other options in the same price range or close enough

Tricky one this, i was looking an age for the same thing, a stick type multi memory 2.4ghz setup, but i ended up buying a hobbyking wheel type as at the time they were both hard to come by and expensive, it seems like everyone uses the wheel type so choice is not huge, this setup is the best affordable unit i can find, http://www.modelsport.co.uk/core-rc-code-2.4ghz-3-channel-fhss-lcd-stick-combo/rc-car-products/38217 and although the receivers are around £22 at modelsport, i think you will find these are the same http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=12187

I have this setup http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=12181

Let us know how you get on bud.

Regards Mark

use the Etronix Pulse EX3GPro 3-channel 2.4GHz FHSS can get more rx's from hobbyking at half the price of the etronics ones

can get same handset by tamco cheaper

i too was in a similar situation , having bought a planet t5 system a few years ago , unfortunatly with each model having different settings i was facing a challenge , either upgrade to something a little more expensive or buy multiple txs , one for each boat ( my main hobby is boats , but ive also got 3 cars ) i initially bought a planet twister , believing the sales info of the set having 8 model memory only to find that four of those are helicopter only memories , earlier this year following several brown outs at our local pond i sold all of the planet gear and bought myself a spektrum dx6i , as the name sugests its a six channel set , it also boasts adjustable end points and travel as well as servo reverse etc , it also has a TEN model memory and a system that prevents you powering up your model while in the wrong model memory , most of my models use the orange aftermarket receivers which can be bought for around a tenner each .

Once again the help and advice has been excellent, thank you very much all :)

Seems I have plenty of option so ill start having a look at the choices and costs and see what's gonna suit me best.
