The TTC uses 0.5 metric module pinion gears.

All TTC gears are 0.5 module.

The pinion were rare and with not so many teeth numbers. I must correct me because I confused the teeth number of the 0.5 metric with the HP Steel 0.6 metric in a previous post (will correct now).

The TTC pinions are six (I also own all of them double) and are from 18T to 23T. The gear ratio is this one:

18T = 1:12.79

19T = 1:12.12

20T = 1:11.51 Dynatech 02H7010W

21T = 1:10.96

22T = 1:10.47 Dynatech 02H0513W

23T = 1:10.01 Dynatech 01R9019

As you can see the gear ratio is very high and I did use a mild motor (17x3) so my car was too slow.

So I decided to made a modification to my TTC spur gear. I cutted away all teeth and replaced the entire spur with a 48P one, in order to find a bigger pinion gear for my car.

Now the problem is not so important because the DF03 uses the same module so a new generation of 0.5 module pinions are now availabe in 23T, 25T, 26T, 27T, 29T and 32T if I remember well.

EDIT: not sure about but could be Tamiya re released 20T, 21T, 22T and 23T 0.5 module for the Dark Impact. Only the 23T works on the Dark Impact (DF-03). For the other ones a bigger spur is needed and they are done for the bruchless use only. With this spur you cannot use the spur cover (DF-03). Ask to TA-Mark for more precise informations.

Kontemax, as we are abusing your brain for a moment, can I ask, does the TTC need a special pinion?

thank you again for your help.
