Nice one TE - mine came similar packaged yesterday - the hot glue and the ultra strong packing tape was quite a challenge.

What doesn't quite come across in the photo's is the vividness of the decals - they really are bright neons !

The Decal vivdness not clear due to room light. Will take more photos of it side-by-side with Vintage one

Anyone got any window masking techniques they want to share for these? I've yet to attempt painting an Avante shell as its always looked super hard to mask.

And i am 90% sure, there will be no Re Re Avante 2001 since this body set will completely change to Avante 2001, so why to re re another Avante 2001 kit

Use a brand new exacto or scalpel blade when cutting the shell, and any excess masking tape.

drawing a fine pen line on the outside of the shell helps to align the masking tape on the inside, or when cutting the liquid mask if thats your choice of masking media

Mate, what i did to my vinatge windows is to apply double Triple layers of the masking tape, then let it set for 10 mins and then use a sharp nife around the lines. Before using the nife, i do take some marker and lightly go through the lines needed to be cut.

if this is the first time to do it, you might find difficulties, but with time you will do it like jet

Q. Would you rationalise the purchase based on the existence of the bodyshell re-re and the Egress re-re?

Q. Is it an easy kit for them to re-re?

A. BIG TIME yes.

Hmmm, liquid mask, never heard of that, sounds interesting! I can foresee errors with using masking tape based on how many small curves there would be...interesting. Thanks!

The Avante shell shouldn't be to difficult to mask with tape. All you need to do is lay down a long piece of masking tape on cutting board or even a large plate of glass (table, window, mirror, etc...). Now take a straight edge cut a fine strip off the edge (probably 2mm thick) with a razor. Now peel up your long pin-stripe of tape and lay it onto the shell. The thinner the stripe, the easier it will conform to the curves as you lay it down. After you've completely outlined the boarder of your canopy, go ahead and start cutting strips of tape and fill in the center. Check for missed spots (hold to the light). Now you're ready to paint.

But I wish it would!

Lool...but if you see, if they are going to re re the Avante 2001 then, only the difference will be the dampers and damper mount and the box art while the rest is the same as re egress.

So will Tamiya re re Avante2001? IMO= No.

While with Vanquish, probably yes since it is a different chassis and components. .:-).

a few dollars, but they still offer the cheaper shipping option that Stella don't/didnt - only 5 left at RCMart (supposedly). None with Seidel or Tamico yet

Great idea on the thin strips, that sounds sounds like a plan! I'm going to go for that. Really looking forward to getting these shells now. Probably not arriving until new year is my guess as I want with EMS Air for the first 2 and EMS Land for the second 2. No rush though, still got about a bazillion other projects to finish lol.

This is why i got 8 , so i have them for later . I'm guessing there will be 2nd hand re re egress for sale in a year or two ?. Well i hope
